Book Review: Wicked
Feb. 16th, 2006 02:26 pmI just finished "Wicked" by Gergory Maguire. It's supposed to be the "REAL" story behind the Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz." It's also been made into a musical, which is supposed to be really good.
I thought it was a really good book and I really liked it for the most part. The one thing that is still driving me nuts, though, is that it brings up questions and then doesn't answer them for you. (Like, for instance, why the water made the witch melt. Or why she was green. Or who the Wizard really was.) I HATE it when books do that!! (Movies too!) The one thing this book really made me want to do is watch "The Wizard of Oz" again. My friend David lent it to me, so I might bring the movie one day when we have lunch plans and we'll get food to go and come back and watch it. I think that would be a great day of work!! =)
