On Thursday, my new roommate came home with about 10 bags of hotdog and hamburger buns. Well, that can't be wasted, that is too much food. So I bought it to work and then Laura and I got to cookin. Well, not so much cookin as sandwich makin. The groups that left on Friday had left a bunch of sandwich fixings: chicken, cheese, ham, mayo, mustard, ketchup, hot dogs, peanut butter, jelly, etc. So, Laura and I made about 60 bagged lunches. Each one had a PB&J and then one other kind of sandwich (meat or cheese or hotdog). Then we found pudding cups and put one in each bag with a spoon and napkin. Then we took our 60 lunches and hopped on the metro. We went to McPherson Square and then Chinatown and handed out 60 bagged lunches to homeless people on the streets. It took us almost three hours to make the lunches and less than an hour to hand out all 60 of them. I don't know if that makes me glad we were able to feed so many people or sad that there are that many people on the streets who need lunches.

After handing out the bagged lunches on Friday, I headed over to G's house. He and his sister and I snagged a frozen pizza from Gint (yes, I know it's Giant, but we pronounce it Gint) and some fresh mushrooms and then headed back to their house to cook it up. G sauteed the extra mushrooms and they were so yummy. Then we headed off to buy tickets to Batman Begins. We went to a different Gint to get snacks to smuggle into the theater, then met up with some people and went in for the movie. Now, I am no Batman fan, but this was a really good movie. Mostly because Christian Bale is H.O.T.  Mad props to [livejournal.com profile] yarbiedoll for pointing that out to me!!

Saturday was a bum around day for G and I.  We just lazed around the afternoon, then headed to Target for some errands for me, then Eatzis for yummy--and healthy!!--food, then to the mall.  Now, usually when I go to the mall, I look at clothes and poor G follows me around like a puppy.  Not so on Saturday!  We went to the Gap and Lord & Taylor for HIM!  He got a snazzy polo at Gap, and we found some nice shirts at L&T that were too expensive, but looked really good.  Then we headed to Borders and I picked up some gifts.

Sunday I headed to church for the longest service ever.  Then Jes and I stopped at the Dollar Store on the way home to get care package stuff together for a friend of ours on staff at ASP.  Then home, to spend Father's Day with Dad.  Except that for Father's Day, we decided to leave him home alone to watch his NASCAR and mom, Jes, and I went shopping!!!  We all spent about the same and this is what we got:  Jes-2 swimsuits and a shirt; Mom-3 shirts; Me-5 tank tops, 2 pairs of pants, and 3 skirts.  Do I know how to shop or what!!  Dinner was most excellent, with them pulling out a chicken breast for me while everyone else had steak.  Then just sitting around and being the ridiculous family that we are, then I headed out.  I met G at his friends house for a bit, then headed home when the Finals game went into overtime.  I pulled into my parking space just as the last 5 seconds of the game happened.  Had I made just ONE light, I would have been able to see the game inside, but no.  Oh well.

Yesterday was good.  I was in my office for a long time, but I don't feel like I got that much done, which is weird, because I know I did a ton.  Last night I headed over to G's house for more quality time together, since he might be starting a job soon.  It was a very fun and relaxing night.  Good times.[Bad username or unknown identity: ]

DC Police Chief has car stolen.

And not his personal car--no, his unmarked police cruiser.  Gotta love DC.

A correction from the Washington Post:

"Articles on April 25 and 26 about Pope Benedict XVI said that St. Peter was the founder of the Roman Catholic Church. According to the church, Jesus was the founder."
