So I'm driving to College Park last night on the beltway (after grabbing dinner with Kym downtown, I was headed to CP to watch George play in his soccer game) when all of the sudden...the battery light in my car comes one. What the heck does that mean? I don't know. So clearly, I start freaking out. THEN the ABS light comes on--also not a good sign, I am assuming, especially since I am driving in the RAIN. So I finally make it to CP and park, and pull out the owner's manual. "Battery light means your battery is not being charged. This is usually do to a faulty alternator or drive belt. DO NOT DRIVE WITH THIS LIGHT ON: You will drain the battery. If you have to drive somewhere, turn all lights and the radio off."

Are. You. FREAKING. KIDDING. ME. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!.

(As a reminder: this car's battery has already died on me once, then the starter went out, then the car I was driving while the starter was being replaced had the alternator die as I was driving on the BW Parkway, then that's cars replacement car had the battery die on me in a parking lot.)

So, basically, I was freaking out and convinced that my car would not make it home, and I was very lucky to have George around. He gave me his UMD parking permit, and we left my car in the garage, then he drove me home. I am driving my mom's Green van until they get home. Oh, that's right--I am house-sitting for my parent's this weekend, so Dad isn't even around to work on the stupid car. I talked to my dad last night and he said it did sound like the alternator went bad, and then he also said the ABS light was probably on because the ABS sensor runs on electricity so the car probably shut it off when the battery got that low. Fabulous.

Speaking of house-sitting, the electric guys left a note saying they would be here at 8:30 this morning, so I set my alarm for 8. At 7:50, the house alarm goes off--one of the builder guys came back unexpectedly to finish something up, and I think he scared the heck out of himself as much as he did out of me. So I have been up since 7:50, I have already walked almost 2 miles today, and I was at work earlier than I have been in the past 6 months. WOW. I am so tired, though, I just want to go to bed.

George and I are going to see Sahara tonight, since it is based on my most favorite book in the whole wide world, so I am rather stoked about that. Then the rest of this weekend is just sitting around the house relaxing, I think. That's my plan, anyway.

Props to the boy because George had an assist in their 2 goal win last night. =)

He's such a studmuffin. ;)
