I bought these seedless black grapes the other day and they are SO. GOOD. YUM. I am seriously addicted to them. I could eat them all day long.
ANYway, what have I been up to. Well I'll tell you.
This past weekend I drove down to Harrisonburg, VA (where JMU is) to present a workshop at a Presbyterian Youth Leadership Development Conference. I presented my workshop on Urban Hunger and Poverty in the United States. It went pretty well and I had a couple kids come up to me afterwards and tell me that it was one of the best workshops they had ever had at a conference. So that made me happy and feel all warm and tingly inside!
I drove back on Sat. night and went straight to G's house where I hung out until about 1, then headed home. When I got home I found out that my bathroom had been ripped up (toilet in the shower, tiles in teh trashcan, etc) by the guy who was supposed to redo our bathrooms in August. Better five months late than never, I guess. Anyway, I had no toilet, nor did the roommate with the bathroom not attached to her room, so I ended up having to wake up my other roommate with a bathroom in her room to use the potty. I scared the crap out of the poor girl, though, and Kym woke up screaming bloddy murder before I could explain to her what happened. I still feel really bad about that!
On Sunday when I woke up, I was going to go to G's house to shower and hang out with him, but when I called him his not feeling well had turned into a full-fledged cold attack. Sad. So I went to mom and dad's house, cleaned out my car, and showerd. Sunday was my best friend Rachael's birthday, so I went over to her apartment to meet her new baby, her new kitty Sid. Her husband made us strawberry shortcake instead of birthday cake, which was SO good, and it was really nice to spend some time with Rach, since it's been forever since I've seen her. I ended up skipping youth group because I was so exhausted from the weekend and I just couldn't handle anymore people interaction for the weekend. So instead I went back to mom and dad's house for dinner, then hit up the grocery store on my way home. Sunday night I spent about 3 hours cleaning the apartment, because...
Monday night mom and dad came over with dinner for us! Dad made lasagne--wtih turkey burger instead of hamburger--and brought a salad, Texas toast, and 2 bottles of wine. Tania stopped at Panera on her way home and got this super chocolatey yummyness of a brownie, also, so we ate SOOOO well last night! Mom and Dad also looked at the pretty crappy job that is being done in the bathrooms--grout and Thinset everywhere in my bathroom and my room, ruined carpet where grout is all over it and won't come off, not to mention the fact that the guy didn't actually FIX the problem (water damage to the floor) before he relaid the tile--and told me I better call my landlord. Great. I'm waiting to hear back from him today, so we'll see how that goes...
SO. That's what I've been up to. It probably sounds boring, but man, I feel like I have been so frickin busy lately. I also have to work this Friday, which is a holiday, so I will have yet another comp day coming up. I told G last night that I want to use a comp day and go out and do something FUN!!!! I already know what I want to do, but I am going to surprise him. SO I'll let you know what happens after it does.
