There should be an HP Anonymous
Oct. 26th, 2005 01:57 pmHi, my name's Jen and I'm addicted to Harry Potter.
*Hi Jen!*
It started when I graduated college and took a 3 week road trip with my best friend. I ran out of books at the end of week one and she gave me Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone and the rest, as they say, is history. In the past two weeks, I have reread the fourth and fifth books and am now again halfway through the sixth book. Despite the fact that I have read the fifth book probably three or four times, I *again* SOBBED my way through the ending. I can't put the books down and not only that, but I actually TURN OFF THE TV in order to read instead. I can't get to bed at a decent time because I promise myself I will put the book down at the end of this chapter and then get sucked in and promise that the end of the next chapter will be the one where I go to bed, and then the next one, and then the next one, and the next thing I know, it's 1:00 am.
I have already blacked out November 18th and since I have to work that night, I made the group reschedule their arrival time since I told them I would be "unavailable after 7pm." Because we'll probably try to get tickets to a 9pm show and then camp out in line for a few hours.
For Christmas, my sister and I are decorating our godsister's bedroom in a Harry Potter theme. I have been working on the plans for WEEKS and I think I might be a tad more excited about this than she is. When my mom mentions that something in my sketches might not work, I am heartbroken and spend the next few days pouring over them, trying to figure out how to make it happen. (I am actually REALLY excited about doing this if you couldn't tell!!)
I know I'm probably not half as bad as some people out there, but in my world...it's pretty bad.
And my mom put down the first book after the first chapter because she refused to read a book about "a little boy who has to live in a cupboard."
