I have recently decided that I don't get enough veggies in my diet. (Some might refer to this as "eating like Cohoon." =P) Last week, my solution to this was to bring salads as my main course, instead of a sandwich. However, that still left me hungry. So my solution for this week is to make a salad, and then stuff it into a whole wheat pita. It sounded yummy and I was excited about doing this.

I cut my pita in half this morning, made my salad, and prepared to stuff the pita, when to my horror, the pita began to come apart at the seams. Ok, no big deal, I gently stuffed it and brought it to work. I just finished it, though, and I am sad to say that my pita pocket did not survive. The pocketness fell apart about halfway through. So, my question is this: How do you eat a pita without it coming apart at the seams? Is this even possible? I will be very bummed if I have to eat broken pitas. I am a fan of the pocket.

What you need is something to hold the pita seams together. Cake frosting is what you're looking for. And don't stuff too much in the pita. Actually, take out all the vegetables. While your at it you might as well replace the pita with lemon cake. Now just take what you've got and eat it like a piece of cake. Problem solved!

Oh, and I think there's a song about this from one of my favorite Rogers & Hammerstein musicals: "How Do You Solve A Problem Like A Pita?"
