because i have to drive home from work and it would make me rather sad and stressed out if it was still snowing. plus i would not be able to go to my party tonight, and if i can't shake my groove thang, then not only i, but many people would be sad. it would be a sad day indeed.
yesterday after work i went to CP and met up with GT (that would be George Telis aka The Boy. so i guess i could call him TB too, but that might get confusing with DB, who is my sister's The Boy. what's that you say? lay off the crack? nah, life is much more fun this way. =P) for dinner before his class. i don't know why exactly, but i had so much fun at dinner. i mean, we just went to this silly Noodles place, the food wasn't even that good, but...it was great. just what i needed, i think. on our way back to the car, we stopped by the Kaplan testing place and i picked up some info on taking the GRE's. our friend Eric is a big shot with the Kaplan people, so i'm gonna drop him a line and talk to him about taking the test. i also signed up for an account at UMBC yesterday, so i can sign up for one of the 2 undergrad classes i need to apply for the Social Work grad school. EEP!
after dinner, i headed back home where i found Chris waiting for Orlando so they could go to a movie. i was flitting around between my room and downstairs when Orlando got there, and the guys decided to play some pool, so i was up and down again. (i know that no one really wanted to hear that piece of information, but i've been dying to use the phrase "flitting around" for a while, so suck it up.) neither one of them were impressed with my ballerina skills that i was practicing as i ate 3 pieces of pizza to top off the bowl of noodles i had with G. i guess neither one of them will be buying me a tutu for christmas. so sad. :(
Dan called me around 7:30 and we assessed the weather situation. (haha, assess. that cracks me up because of that movie with Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Applegate, and Mike Myers. "ASS-ess the situation." "No, no, it's A-sess. You put the wrong em-PHA-sis on the wrong syl-LA-ble.") we decided it was Code Green for Go, so he came over for the Thursday night line-up. Friends was a repeat (BOOOO), the Tracey Morgan show was on after it, Will and Grace sucked, and Scrubs was dumb, too. Dan left before ER to make sure he made it home ok, and after i watched some kid steal a finger from some guy who had cut it off with a chainsaw (how is that possible, cut a finger off with a chainsaw?? how do you still have a hand?? or an arm?? this is why i don't own power tools) i decided to bag it and call it a night.
this decision came after playing Orlando in pool and beating him not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR (4) times in a row. let me just say: i RULE. (of course, that's only because he sucks, it's not directly attributable to my talent, but hey, i'll take what i can get.)
we had about 3 inches of snowy slushiness this morning, so i spent a nice amount of time clearing off my car. Anne Arundel county schools were closed-i could see why. they hadn't plowed the road we live off of, and once i was on 175, there was only one lane that had been cleared. the parkway sucked for the first part of the drive, then it stopped snowing/sleeting and turned into a drizzle, and the roads were totally clear, so i made it into work with no problems. i just hope it doesn't get super cold and freeze, because that would be a lot of ice on the roads...
