Crazy busy weekend
Oct. 3rd, 2005 12:50 pmMy weekend is finally over. Yee haw!!
Friday I got home from work then ran up to the recycling center to get rid of some extra computer parts I made my mom and dad throw away. Back to my house to meet G and then off to play tennis. After tennis we made dinner together (shrimp, red peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes over whole wheat pasta and a fruit salad of apples, pears, blueberris and cantalope) then watched tv and then he left early.
Saturday I woke up at 6 and was down to work by 7:30 for service day. I went with one of the groups and G to this old woman's house in NW and we did yard work. When we got there her lawn was about a foot tall and her chain link fences had vines growing all over them, which is illegal in DC. When we left, her lawn was mowed, the edges had been trimmed by G with a weedwhacker, and all of the vines were off the fences thanks in large part to yours truly. After that it was back to the church for a catered lunch and speakers, then a quick reflection. We finished and cleaned up in enough time that G and I caught the last quarter of MD's homecomming game at a bar up in Dupont Circle. After that, G and I walked around Georgetown for a while, then headed down to Vienna, VA to meet up with some of G's friends for dinner. We went to a coffeehouse and saw a friend of theirs from high school play. He was a FABULOUS entertainer and I am shamelessly plugging him here: www.eric-hutchinson.com. He was GREAT. I even bought one of his CD's. After that, G and I headed back to the chuch to get our cars and had some drama with the group that was leaving. Long story short, their charter bus got stuck in the parking lot and knocked over a telephone pole. G and I moved our cars and they made it out. But Good Lord, it was drama. Then we were off to Bethesda to meet up with two other friends of G's who had gotten engaged that afternoon. We met up with them for a little while, then headed home. I went to bed at 1am, after having been up for 19 hours. Ouch.
Sunday I went to church and met up with Jes and Erik. After church we headed down to Fellowship Hall for a memorial luncheon for on of my youth group co-counselors sister. Liberian food=YUM! After that Erik and I were off to Skate Zone for roller skating for youth group. I rented rollerblades and had a blast with the 11 kiddos that showed up! On my way to mom's, I picked up a prescription, then once I got home, I didn't do anything else for the rest of the night. Awesome!!! I got back to Rockville around 9:15 and after talking to G, watched Grey's Anatomy with Kym and Tania and now I think I got sucked in to the show. Dangit!
Today has been pretyt low-key, but busy. I'm looking forward to tonight, but only because that means I can go to bed. I am still really tired from this weekend.
