So, the week o' stress just gets better and better....

I woke up this morning feeling icky and sick to my stomach. The last thing I want to do is get up and get moving, so it's a good thing that Laura is going to be here at 10 to let someone in for me.

I finally get out of bed and take a shower, not throwing up in the process. Ok, this is a promising start! Laura calls at 9: "Um, we have a problem. The A/C is leaking all over the place, and the group leader says the coil is broken, which means that it is a MAJOR problem." Super. I tell her I'll call when I get there, and I'll see her in a little while. "Oh, I'm going to a soup kitchen with the group at 9:30." SO...that means she won't be here to let Heather in at 10. Which means I need to haul my cute little tushy to make it in by 10. And it's 9, which means I have to leave in 15 minutes, and I need to eat something, but it takes me a loooooong time to eat when I feel sick in the mornings. Super.

I scarf something down--and my tummy did NOT like that at all--race around, practically run up to the metro station, and miss my train by 3 seconds becuase some rather larger woman won't walk down the escalator. I miss Heather at 10, but at least she left all the stuff on my steps.

I go down to look at the A/C. Why? I don't know, I know NOTHING about this stuff! Sure enough, though, it's leaking. So I ask Marcia for the repair man info. She gives it to me, I call them. "Sorry, you aren't in our system and we aren't taking new referrals right now." WHAT?!?!? So I ask if she can recommend someone. "Sorry, no."

I go ask Jeff, the pastor, if he knows anytihng about A/C. "In short...no."

I call my dad. "Dad, one of my group leaders said the coil on the A/C is broken and it's leaking water all over the floor, what should I do?" Dad says "If it's leaking water, it's not the coil, which means it it won't stop working--it will just keep leaking all over. You should shut it off and then see if you can find the clogged condensation pump pipe." I tell him I'll call him back, and take my cell downstairs to talk it over with him.

Of course the A/C unit it this HUGE industrial unit, so I have not a CLUE what I am looking at. I call Dad back. I kind of describe stuff to him, and he tells me that there should be a panel, and if I take the panel off, I can fish around and see if I can unclog the pipe. "Of course, that's a pretty dirty and gross job, and it's probably all covered in mold and bacteria." Great. I'm all cute dressed up today and I'll probably have an asthma and hive attack due to the mold.

I decide not to take the panel off and go back to Marcia. She gives me the name of the guy that Rolando said we shouldn't use anymore, because really, at this point, there is no other option. I call him and explain the situation. Can he help us? "Well, I'm in Columbia (MD) right now, so I'm not really close, but if I can stop by later, I'll try to do that." I ask if he can give me an estimate on what time he'd be here. "I'm not a doctor, I can't tell you how long it's going to take me with each of my customers, and there are 3 ahead of you. I will try to get to you." And then hangs up.

And it's only 11, and David hasn't even come for lunch yet.
