how to NOT have a fun saturday
Nov. 24th, 2003 02:00 pm1. Take prescribed medication Minocyclin on Friday night.
2. Wake up Saturday. Go about your business for approximately 2 hours.
3. Get extreme vertigo that results in you lying on the floor thinking "oh my God, how did an earthquake just hit MD" before realizing that it was NOT, in fact, an earthquake that made you fall over, since the room is now turning somersaults over and over and over and over...
4. Lie on the bed for 2 hours praying that the room will stop spinning. *Note: It is always wise to turn the fan off before staring up at the spinning ceiling, as it is hard to tell the difference with the fan still on.
5. Call your Mommy and have her come pick you up and take you back to her house, where you lay on the couch for 2 more hours watching the Terps beat NC State (YAY!!) before eating some homemade chicken soup in a kitchen that spins just as much as the ceiling fan you left back at your house. *Note again: When celebrating your team's win, it is NOT wise to jump up very suddenly if you have vertigo. It will only make things worse. Trust me.
6. Fall asleep on the couch around 8:30 and go to bed by 9.
7. Sleep until 10:30 the next morning. Feel slightly less dizzy than the day before.
needless to say, i had an extreme reaction to my medicine, which i am no longer taking. way to kill my saturday. luckily, i had a blast on friday night with Dan, Rachy, Sara, George and Chris to make up for missing out on some football action with the Bymster, the Teejinator, Sam, and Big Matt. sunday wasn't too bad--i was still feeling a little dizzy-ish, but a shower and putting my contacts in helped me feel a little more normal.
work today has been sooooooooooo slooooooooooooow. i hope the rest of the week doesn't drag like this. otherwise, that will suck big time.
