What's cooking, good looking?
Feb. 14th, 2005 01:32 pmHere's what I did this weekend, since I know you are all DYING to know:
Friday
Met up with Mom, Dad and Jes at the Building Museum. Saw some neat stuff, including an oragami exhibit that Jes helped set up. You go girl! Came back to Dupont Circle. Ran to work to check messages and email while the fam went to Bertucci's and got a table. Got to Bertucci's just as the yummy pizza arrived. Went back to work. Group arrived early (!?!) for the first time since I have worked here. Awesome bunch of 8th graders who seemed really excited for their weekend. Did the Orientation, answered a bunch of questions, then waited in my office for George and his sister to pick me up. Went to Georgetown and got movie tickets for "Meet the Fockers." Went to Barnes & Noble to kill the hour before the show. The movie was awkward and painful to the point where I didn't really enjoy it. It had waaaaaaaaaay too much innuendo and uncomfortable situations. G and his sis dropped me off and I went to bed.
Saturday
Woke up and worked on some projects. Cleaned my room and put clothes away. Watched TV. George came over for an hour, then it was off to mom and dad's to grab some dinner and directions for baby-sitting. Yes, that's right, George and I baby-sat on Saturday night, during the Duke game. We had 9 kids for 5 1/2 hours. Ages: 20 month twin girls, 3, 5, 5, 7, 8, 8, 9. The twin babies were the best part. Mia fell in love with G and tried to do everything he did. If he was rolling on the floor with the older kids, Mia would roll on the floor. If G had a ball, Mia got a ball. SO. FRICKIN. ADORABLE!!!!!! Molly was the other baby and she was clingy to me to the point where I couldn't put her down or she would cry and cry and cry. So my arms are a little sore today from carrying her around all night. We finally got the kids to bed and managed to watch the end of the MD vs. Duke game. GO TERPS!!!!!!! It was awesome!!! And George did a Very Good Job with all the kiddos. Adorable rating is off the charts. Got home, talked to mom and dad for a bit, George left, I went to bed.
Sunday
I woke up at 10:55. Church starts at 11:00. Apparently, Dad forgot to wake me up. (His excuse? "You didn't tell me to wake you up!" Even though I told him "I'm going to church tomorrow." Oh well.) Since I missed church, I decided to go run errands. Long story short, they weren't productive. Got back from errands to find mom, dad, and friends of the fam over for "dinner." We ate around 1:30, then I had to book it over to church to meet up for youth group. We took teddy bears to the National Rehabilitation Center in DC for Valentine's Day, which is always a fun event. We all got lost driving there, and coming back was even more exciting when Chris missed a light. I was in front of him, so I slowed way down and eventually pulled over. I called the person in the front car for directions (see, cell phones ARE useful!) and when Chris caught up, I got us out of DC safely. GO ME!! Got home and worked on some more stuff and watched TV. Six Days Seven Nights was on, and then First Wives Club, which I had never seen, but was hilarious! Talked to George for a little bit then stayed up WAY too late to watch Project Runway on Bravo.
Monday
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Today is a pretty icky and miserable day, with rain/sleet/slush when I woke up this morning. I drove to the metro, and tonight I have an exciting evening of grocery shopping ahead of me. (George and I are celebrating VDay tomorrow, so that's why I am not angry and bitter about today.) I am FREEZING in my office, and more so than usual. I really just want to leave early and get my stuff done and spend the rest of the night in bed, but...that's not going to happen. Unfortunately. I hope the rest of you are having a nice day. =)
