Tina Fey had a baby girl and named her Alice. How normal!
And while we're on the subject of the "Weekend Update" anchor...here's MY weekend update! (Oooooh, good transition!!)
Friday I got home and went for a walk with Tania, which made me feel good about myself. Yay. After a quick shower, I got all hotted up and walked downstairs just as G got here. He was looking quite sharp in his new striped polo shirt. Yum. We went to Eatzi's for dinner and split a turkey sandwich and tomato, basil, and mozzerella salad on a yummy crusty roll. Then we took a drive while we waited for G's friend to call, and after he called to let us know he'd be awhile, we went back to my place and played Connect Four until it was time to go. We were at Ben's for WAY to long, and G dropped me off at 2.
I got up at 9:30 on Saturday morning, showered, ate and headed to G's house to meet him for the UMD vs. Clemson football game. He has a Lot 5 permit and for some reason, the people manning that garage let us in without paying, which is not supposed to happen. SCORE! We met up with my sis and headed over to the game. It was a good game, although we lost, and I am excited that football season is here again! It was also quite hot and sunny out, and I managed to get a nice sunburn on my back and chest. Lovely. After the game, we met up with Kym and all them for a bit while traffic thinned out, then headed back to G's house for some tennis. We both played really well--we're definitely getting better, and I even worked up a sweat. After that, we went back home for a home cooked meal. I love having a boyfriend who likes to cook for me! G made chicken with oregano, grilled a red pepper with it, and then we put all of that on Greek pita bread (more like flat bread) with cheese and YUMness ensued!! We both fell asleep watching SNL, but after a nice nap, I was awake enough to drive myself home. If I hadn't been awake enough then the adrenaline rush I got from almost being sideswiped by a drunk driver definitely would have been enough. When I got home I was still SO awake and my heart was STILL pounding from twenty minutes earlier.
Sunday I got up early and drove to church. I sat with Erik, which apparently confused some people as to which McClurg sister he was dating. (Hint: not me.) After church Mom and I went to the Dollar Store and K-Mart to buy needed supplies that our church is taking down to Katrina victims. After that we went home for a quick lunch, then off to the mall. I got sized for a ring ON THE MIDDLE FINGER OF MY RIGHT HAND since I need a new one, and in the process fell in love with a $1000 pink sapphire and diamond ring. Dangit. Why do I have to have such expensive taste in things?!?!?! After the mall we headed over to Modell's where I got new volleyball shoes (YAY!!!!) and new running shoes. I am hoping that the new running shoes will encourage me to get off my butt and move! (So far so good...Tania and I went for a nice walk yesterday as well.) Dinner was as good as it always is (=SO good) and then it was off to Youth Group. Erik is a co-counselor with me this year, and I think it's going to be a good year. We had 15 kids show up. Holy cow. Last year we were lucky if we had five!
I didn't sleep really well on Sunday night-I tossed and turned until 3 and then I stopped looking at the clock. Yesterday was pretty productive for me at work and then when I got home Tania and I went walking, I made myself dinner (tuna melt) and hit up the grocery store. I feel like I got a lot accomplished yesterday. I like it when I feel that way.
Today is also going well. I have scheduled 2 more groups, which is making me feel better about things, and aside from a few minutes where things went crazy and I was the only one here, it's been pretty calm. It's so nice outside, too. I just wish my dang allergies weren't going crazy on me....
