Well, I wasn't supposed to be back until Thursday, but things went differently then we thought they would yesterday, so I am back today already!

This was a good weekend. (Well, except for one thing. We found out my 17 year old cousin is in the hospital because both of his lungs collapsed. The doctors basically have no idea what happened to the kid. They did emergency surgery on Saturday and stapled his lungs together--I think--and he's in the ICU right now. We have NO idea what his prognosis looks like. It's scary....) After I had lunch with David on Friday, I headed over to The Boy's house. We ran some errands together and then went to dinner at Red, Hot and Blue (YUMMMMMMMMM) before stopping at BlockBuster on the way home. We got "Hercules" (Disney version) to watch with his sis, who was one hurting puppy on Friday night. I got a GORGEOUS pair of opal earrings to match my necklace from two years ago, which was so sweet of him.

On Saturday I packed up stuff and headed home to mom and dad's house. G and Jes joined us for dinner, then G and I made a very "Trading Spaces" ottoman for my living room that I think is super cute. I couldn't fit it in my car today with everything else, so I'll have to get it tomorrow, but I will take pictures so everyone else can see the cuteness, too. ;) We also dyed Easter eggs, which turned out awesome. Those pictures will also be posted soon, hopefully!

Sunday G met Jes and I at church, while mom and dad sang in the choir. After church, we headed over to Deale for brunch with my dad's friends. Then it was back home to open our Easter baskets, then off to Balmer for Easter dinner with my mom's friends.

Yesterday I had off from work, so I was home. When my morning plans got changed, mom and I decided to go SHOPPING! We met up with KT and Miss Heidi and found KT's prom shoes and then went a bunch of other places. I took them to lunch at Chipotle, which was the first time any of them had ever had it, and they really liked it. We spent the rest of the night at Miss Heidi's eating yummy food and hanging out, which was fun.

Today I am back at work, but since I was prepared to not be here, I don't really have anything to do! I have a group coming in tonight, but I don't need to be here since everything is all set for them to let themselves in. I've discovered that when you work for a church, the week before a church holiday is slow because everyone is prepping for it and the week after is slow because everyone is recovering from it! But that can be nice, since I don't have to worry about being crazy busy today.

These past few days have been busy, but not how I thought they would.

On Tuesday I headed over to Cohoon's house for mad-crazy-funness and that's exactly what I got. Awesome!! The part that was unexpected was that there was NO traffic on I-95. The Beltway was much better than it normally is and I flew down 95, so I got to his house in 40 minutes. At 6pm on a Tuesday. Without speeding. Nice!

On Wednesday, I was planning on leaving work a little early to run some errands on my way home before going to Mom and Dad's house for dinner. Well, my mom called and said my cousin had found some prom dresses and could I please come and help her pick one out? So I left even earlier and went to the mall to meet my mom and check them out. We weren't thrilled with the ones she had found alraedy, so we tried on about 18 others. No joke. We finally found one that she is GORGEOUS in and then headed back to her house for dinner. While I was there, G called and said his sister had been in an accident and was at the hospital. ... Gah. I ended up skipping volleyball and heading over to their house to check in with everyone. She's ok--she has whiplash and is wearing a neckbrace, but no broken anything and x-rays look ok. Her car is totaled, though, which is a bummer. Thank God she's ok...that family doesn't need any more stress. After I made sure everyone was set, I headed back to my mom and dad's house.

I stayed at their house last night becuase I was sitting in on an 8am class this morning on the economics of poverty and David spoke to the class. After class, my sis and I went out for yummy breakfast at the bagel place and then on my way to my car I stopped in to see my old boss and ended up there for about an hour. I finally got back to work...and I had no email or phone calls to deal with. (The week before Easter, no one in a church is thinking of a summer mission trip!) So, another slow day for me here, but that's ok!

SWEET!!! I just found out that I have off tomorrow for Good Friday. I love working for the church!!!! =)

Also, that's most exciting because tomorrow is a big day--three years for G and I. Aww. We're so cute. ;)

Anyway, I will be out of my office until next Wed. or Thurs. so have a great Easter and I'll update when I get back! =)

I finally had a low-keyish weekend. Which I have been desperately needing!

Friday was a busy day at work for me. I had things to do, then lunch with David. G came by earlier than he was originally planning so we walked from here down to GWU for an ice cream cone, then over to the White House before we realized that I had to be back for an Orientation, so we better find dinner. We ended up at a Chipotle which was SO FREAKING GOOD, even though I didn't think I really wanted it originally. After my Orientation, we were meeting V and friends at a club about 6 blocks away for V's birthday...but they were running super late. So G and I hung around in my office reading (him textbook, me trash book) until we decided to head over. Luckily, the pouring down rain had stopped, so we didn't get totally drenched. Since I had cute shoes on, we drove around looking for parking and with my karma, we found a spot less than a block away. We had fun at the club for a while, but once the lame-ass club techno crap came on, I got a huge headache from the bass line and the insect noise (I swear, that's what it sounded like) so we left.

Saturday I slept in and did NOTHING!!!!!!! Actually, that's not totally true...I did laundry, cleaned my room, organized my financial stuffs, downloaded pics off my computer and watched a lot of tv. But other than was all relaxing! I headed over to G's house and we went up to Baltimore to see his mom for dinner, which was fun. We stoppped at Giant on the way home to buy brownie mix and made that for dessert, which was so good!

Sunday I met my mom and dad at church, then mom and I went shopping. I got Harry Potter 4 on DVD (YAY!!!!!!!), burnable cd's, hangers, and my prescription. When we got home, dad and I worked on the crossword puzzle and then the three of us walked around the yard looking at all their pretty landscaping stuff. Oh, and we talked about my sister because she is a brat and never comes home. ;) (This is a JOKE, Jes. I am JUST KIDDING. Do NOT get offended!) After that I went for a run and almost made it 2 miles. This was a Big Deal for me and I feel very accomplished. After that mom and dad left for dinner and I jumped in the shower before youth group. It was Parent Appreciation Night, so we had a pizza party with the parents and kids. Chris showed up, which was surprising, and we had a fun time talking with him afterwards. I headed home and watched the end of The Italian Job with Kym and Tania and then we watched a repeat Gray's Anatomy that neither Tania nor I had seen. (There was this one scene where this woman's heart bursts into flames while they are performing open heart surgery on her...and she doesn't die. Woah.) I talked to G pretty late, then went to bed.

I have been pretty busy so far today and this week is only going to stay as busy as this. I will be out until next Wed. or Thurs. so I have to not only get everything done for this week, but next week as well. Eep. Oh, and I am the only church representative here today. Lovely.

I've been busy these past few days...

Monday G picked me up from work and we went into Georgetown for dinner and hanging out. We stopped by Sports Zone and I found HOT PINK trimmed New Balances...and the biggest size they carried was a 10 1/2. I am a SOLID 11, so that was a no go. BOO that.

Tuesday I was a hard worker at work, then went home and was even busier. I dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, made and ate dinner, worked on my art project, put all my clothes away, filed all my paperwork, ripped 3 CD's, burned 5 CD's, watched TV, read a book, and talked to the boy before I went to bed exhausted.

Wednesday I took off for a doctor's appointment in Annapolis. The nurse was quite unfriendly. After the appointment and the hassle of getting the next one that day (which didn't work, so I'll be off tomorrow, too) Mom and I went majorly shopping. We went to Home Goods, where I got hot pink mixing bowls, pretty candle holders, and two serving bowls because I don't have ANY. Then it was off to Chick-fil-A for lunch, which was excellent. Khol's was up next for dressed to wear for the weddings, but we struck out. I did get a pair of jeans, a pair of capris, a skirt, a shirt, a belt, four pairs of socks and a pair of pink shoes, though, so that was all good. After that, it was off to Victoria's Secret for, well, secret stuff. ;) Then we went to Deb and I found my two wedding dresses. The one for the September wedding in Philly is spaghetti straps, black with white polka dots and a white lace trim around the waist. The one for CA is SO California!! It's coraly/tangeriney and is a halter dress with a flouncy skirt that just screamed Cali to me. I love it!! We also found gorgeous prom dresses, so we called Katie to come over and look and when she got there, we had about 12 picked out for her. She didn't find one that fit her right, though, so we will need to make a second trip. Possibly Friday, depending on how I feel.

Today was busy and eventful, but David had to cancel lunch, so I had some extra time to get stuff done. Holy smokes, I can't believe it's already 4:00. Crazy. My mom's bday is tomorrow so I will be frantically trying to finish my art project tonight before I go back to their house, but that probably won't happen. Too bad. I have an appointment in Annapolis at 10 tomorrow morning, so I'm headed back to mom and dad's house so I can sleep in a little later than I would otherwise.

Yesterday I had a nice reminder of why I do what I do. Sometimes I think I get so caught up in the planning and behind the scenes part that I forget who it is I am serving and why I am so passionate about doing this.

I had a service project flake out on me on Monday (for Tuesday) so I had to come up with something. We do this thing called "Bread for the Journey" where we used bag lunches as ice breakers to talk to homeless people. Basically, the lunches allow us to approach people with a purpose and even if the person is not interested in talking, we are still helping them out. The group leader was really uncomfortable with the idea of her leading the group to do this, so I offered to go out with them. Initially, I was happy because I would be out of my office for a couple hours in the afternoon and out in the sunshine. I mean, what's not to like about that, right?

As we were in the park distributing the lunches, though, it became so much more than just "getting out of my office." We talked to a man who said that we were the first people to make eye contact with him all day. I tried to give a lunch to one man who said "Nah, I'm ok, but you should take it over to that guy under the tree--he needs it worse." Another girl gave a lunch to a man waiting for a bus who said he was going to take it home to his daughter, if that was ok. The students were all really surprised at how kind and compassionate and caring these men on the street were, which made me SO HAPPY, since that's really the message we want people to take home from here. That everyone on the street is just the same as you and I and still has value and worth as a human being.

The most moving part of the afternoon, though, was when we were out of lunches and we came accross two more men, Eddie and Robbie. Even though we didn't have a lunch to give them, Eddie and Robbie asked if we would join hands and pray with them, because they felt we were "truly a blessing from God." I never in a million years would have thought that you would find me in the middle of Layfayette Square in downtown Washington, DC, holding hands with a homeless man and reciting the Lord's Prayer. But it just felt right in the moment. And to have someone praying for me, in the situation that Eddie and Robbie are in, was just incredibly moving.

Things are working out for me....

Yesterday was crazy-hectic-GAH!!! And now today, everything is falling back into place quite well. This is very good and leads to a much happier and healthier (especially mentally!!) Jen. =)
neebs: (daffydil)
I went to a different metro stop today so I could have a little extra walking in since it was nice out and on my way, I passed DAFFODILS!!!!!!!!! Not just the shoots, but ones with flowers out already. YAY!!!!!! They are my favorite flower AND they mean that spring is on the way. That made me very happy. My inbox did not, but I'm getting ahead of myself...

This weekend was really good. On Friday, I went to G's house for dinner with him and his mom and then while he studied, his mom and I went to the mall. After we got back, G and I headed over to College Park for a party which was really fun. Also--the house was GORGEOUS. Dang. I want to have a house like that one day...

Saturday I was hoping to get up to Baltimore to start painting my cousin's room, but it turns out they were out of town this weekend. So instead, I bummed around my apartment, not really doing anything. G came over and we rested for a while (I had fallen asleep while waiting for him to arrive) and then we headed into DC for dinner. The place we wanted to go was closed, so we drove BACK to Rockville where their other resturant is. We finally ate around 9:30, and dang were we hungry!! We went for a drive around MoCo's bumpkinville afterwards and had a lot of fun. Then it was back to my house to watch some SNL and then time for bed.

Sunday I went to church and then headed to Mom and Dad's house. I had to run some errands and got some fun stuffs and groceries. We had an early dinner, since mom had a meeting, and after eating and having half a pitcher of Mom's daiquiris, Dad and I were both almost falling asleep. So we went downstairs to the comfy couches to watch the UMD vs. UVA game, which MD barely won. Seriously, these guys need to play BETTER. They almost give me a heart attack every time!! After that, I headed to youth group where E-Nizzy and I rocked the church. We had a good session with some CRAZY HYPER kiddos and then the girls totally kicked the boys butts at Win, Lose or Draw. Cuz girls rule and boys drool. ;) I got home and watched the Oscars with Kym and Tania, which was fun, and I really enjoyed some of the presentations and acceptance speeches. Also, I hugely *heart* Reese Witherspoon.

Today started out great until I got to work and had a nasty email in my inbox, which turned out to be quite possibly the dumbest email ever written, since I had done nothing wrong and it was, in fact, the other person who was mistaken. But in the process, this email has managed to irritate and anger me for almost five hours now and I still feel like I really just want to gripe about it. I hate that. I was having such a good day...and then drama. BLAH.

Anywho, today has been busy and productive, with more to come. Hopefully the rest of this week will not have as much drama...but who knows.

David and I went to Fuddrucker's for lunch today and not only am I stuffed, but now I am sleepy from the turkey burger I had. *Yaaaaaaaaaaaawn* I seriously need a nap.

Other than that, today has been very productive and semi-eventful. I won't know until Sunday if one of my groups is over their numbers, but I'm not coming in on Sunday, which means a crazy busy Monday morning for me if they are. But it would be good for us to have that, so part of me wants it to happen. Also two of my volunteer coordinators are being total flakes on me, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Like I said...busy Monday!

Tonight's probably going to be pretty low-key for me. G has to study more (two exams a week from now=stress from now until then) and we're supposed to go to a party later but I don't know if he's changed his mind about that. Either way works for me. I'm guessing we'll end up getting together around 9ish. Hmmm...maybe that means I can go home and take a nap before I go out! SWEET!

I need to call my cousin and see if she's around this weekend, cuz I need to start painting her room. We're going to Harry Potter-fy it for her. I am really excited and I can't wait to get started!! I'm planning on taking some pictures, so we'll see how it turns out.

I was right. Today has been hectic, to say the least.

Bad stuffs:
*Schedule drama
*Group numbers drama
*Plumbing drama
*Entry door lock drama
*It's raining. I don't want to walk home in the rain.

On the plus side:
*Tuna melt for lunch
*Bigger raise than I had originally thought
*Greek cookies to snack on
*Poetry workshop with a group who is very passionate about being here
*It stopped raining

AND tomorrow is Friday. So, looks like I made it after all!

How hard is it to bring 10 people when you ORIGINALLY commit to 25????

Apparently, it is incredibly difficult.

I have a feeling today is going to be a looooooong day for Jen.....

I am stoked to have March here. It means we're just that much closer to WARMTH. And SUNSHINE. And MY BIRTHDAY. And CALIFORNIA!!!!!

Monday I went home from work with a super headache. I went to bed early, expecting to sleep soundly and awake nice and refreshed on Tuesday morning. Ha. Instead, I tossed and turned all night and after being SO COLD all day, I ended up being freakin hot and sweaty by the time I dragged myself out of bed in the morning. Luckily, once I got up and showered, I was feeling much better.

I drove into work yesterday since I had to leave early and head to my church in Bowie. Monday and Tuesday were really slow for me here--no phone calls, a few emails, and not a lot to do. So leaving at 3:30 was not a big deal for me yesterday! I left early to head to church for our annual Pancake Supper, a fundraiser to help send the Senior High Youth Group to ASP. Plus, it's pancakes for dinner. YUM! After I burned my fingers serving the first few plates, I decided to take the tickets instead. My dad came and I ate dinner with him, then afterwards counted the money (let's just say we were very successful!) and then headed out. I stopped by G's house for a little bit and had some of the cookies I made on Sunday, which are actually really good! We watched American Idol with his mom then went to fill up my car with gas, then I dropped him off and headed home to bed.

I woke up early again today after going to bed early and if this means my body is adjusting to getting up with only 8 hours of sleep...I'll take it!! I actually have stuff to do today, although I am almost done, but it makes me feel like I am needed and productive today! Mom gets back from Disneyworld tonight, so I'm going with Dad to pick her up from the airport, then it's off to volleyball for me. I'm guessing MD is going to lose tonight, so I'm not even going to bother to listen to the game on my way home. I wish we didn't suck so bad. I miss Stevie!!! ;)
neebs: (Default)
Today is turning out to be A Good Day!!!

First, volleyball last night was not as great as it has been, but still good. I felt like some of the players on my team were rather lackadaisical when it came to putting effort into chasing after the ball, which can really annoy me sometimes. Like when I have sacrificed my body to chase down a ball and then they just watch it fall and shrug like "Oh well, maybe next time." GRR. On the plus side, though, I felt like I definitely put way more effort into playing, which gave me a better work out. (And sweatier clothes. =P) I also am starting to be more consistent in the toss for my jump serves, which I have never done before. As long as the toss stays consistent, the whole hitting it in or over the net part will follow. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. ;)

When I got home last night, I found out that poor Tania has the flu. Today she felt better, but was having trouble breathing, so she thought she might have pneumonia instead. Ack. Poor girl. I feel bad for her and want to help her feel better...but at the same time I kinda want to quarantine her so Kym and I don't get sick, too! So far, I am feeling fine, though, so...yeah. No biggie yet.

So. Why today is A Good Day. My sister just called me to let me know that she has been offered a position on staff for ASP this summer. YAY!!!!!! She's following in my footsteps. Awesome!! I am hoping she's kinda close by (within an 8 hour drive would be nice!) so I can go see her this summer without lots of driving. Also, the closer she is, the more likely G might be able to come with me, but we'll see on that. He had an interview this week, so he might be a working boy this summer.

The other good thing for me today is that I am in the process of coming up with a new educational workshop to offer and I just got a big help from another advocacy group with the basic outline of a plan that I can refine and tweak until I have it the way I want it. That is so helpful and fantastic!!

Tonight is pizza and Olympics with Kym. Too bad my blender is on the fritz or it could be pizza, Olympics and daiquiris!!!
neebs: (Default)
(At least it feels like I've used that subject that many times!)

This weekend was really low-key for us. G picked me up from the metro and we got a pizza on the way home. We booked our hotel for the Highway 101 part of our CA trip and then played some Dukes of Hazzard. We still didn't unlock the demolition derby though. GRRRR.

Saturday I just bummed around the house all day. I can't remember what I did. Oh, I cleaned my room, which was important later. I also slept until noon, so maybe that's why it seems like I didn't really do anything! G picked me up and we went into Bethesda and had dinner with some friends of his at Austin Grill. It was really good, I'd never been before. They're also going to be at the wedding this summer, so we talked a little about our plans, then conversation turned to Greece, since they'll be going there in September for their honeymoom. (G will be in that wedding, which means hottie in a tux!!) It was WAY too cold to walk around Bethesda after we ate, so we headed back to my apartment and played "Battle of the Sexes" which the girls won. Twice. G's friends left after that so he and I watched "Fallen" and then "The Cosby Show" with Tania before getting tired and going to bed.

Sunday I went to church and then we had youth group right after. We tagged teddy bears and next week (possibly?) we will be taking them to nursing homes. Mom and I did some shopping on the way home and then I just bummed around their house for the rest of the day looking at pictures of my mom when she was little and at a scrapbook my grandma made for my dad when he was a baby through high school. THAT was a fun time! Dinner was salmon steaks and asparagus and YUM! I was hoping to leave by 9, but Jes called right around then and I stayed to talk to her, so I finally got on the road at 10 something.

Yesterday I came into work to get a comp day, since I'll probably take a day off over G's Spring Break. It's amazing how much work I got done with no one else here and no screaming little children running around like crazy!! I think I finished everything I needed to do for the rest of the week almost! Also, there's lots of drama at work right now, but hopefully that will clear up pretty soon.
neebs: (Default)
Not long weekend like I am not at work today, but long weekend as in, DAMN, Friday was three days ago???

To recap:

Friday I left work a little early and G picked me up at the metro. We went to AAA and got maps and tourbooks for our trip to CA this summer. YAY!!! AAA is right by the ghetto mall, so we walked around there for a little bit trying to decide where to go for dinner and then G bought me a pretty pink sparkly piece of jewelry. We decided to head back down to Georgetown for BBQ at Old Glory and we got a parking space super close. Dinner was GREAT-I had pulled pork and he had pulled ribs, YUM!-and afterwards we went to Dean & Deluca for some yummy raspberry candies. I had a group coming in about 9:30 and we finished dinner around 8, so it wasn't worth it to head back to Rockville and wait, so we came back here to my office. We ended up down in the living room where we could kinda get the Opening Ceremonies on tv without too my static. While watching the ceremonies, I started looking through the tour books and found some more fun things for us to do. At some point I had to come up to my office to check my messages (since I don't get reception in the basement) and while we were in my office, we decided to book a hotel room for the night of the wedding. So that's done...that just leaves 8 more nights of hotel rooms to go!

My group finally got here around 10...and the other half finally arrived about 15 minutes later. The kids were pretty obnoxious, the leaders were either super unfriendly or friendly but didn't take anything I said seriously and were basically not a group that was worth being at work until 11 for. Also, with the snow coming in I felt like I needed to give them options in case they got snowed in, but they didn't really want to hear it, so I said screw it.

Saturday I woke up pretty early despite having been up late. I met G at his house around 12:30 and then we headed to his friends house for the MD vs. Duke game. One of his high school friends went to Duke (most of the rest of them went to MD) and came to watch the game with us too, so we had someone to rub it into our face how badly we lost! (Luckily, Nick has more class than that, so he didn't really say much of anything!) After the game, it started snowing, but not too bad, so we watched a Chris Rock HBO special and then left. I stayed for dinner at G's house and by the time I was ready to leave, it was pretty bad outside. I tried to go to my mom's house but I only made it about 3 miles in 10 minutes before G called to see how the roads were and when I told him how bad it was, he told me to come back. So I did. We watched some Olympics and then headed to bed.

Sunday I woke up super early for me (9:30!!) but still felt pretty well rested. Looking outside, there was probably about 10 inches of snow. Dang! After breakfast, G, his sister and I went out to shovel off the driveway and after we did theirs, we headed over to his neighbor's house. The nieghbor is an older man, mid 50's with medical problems, and the snow plow had pushed all of the snow in front of his driveway. In the time it took us to shovel G's driveway, he had only done his sidewalk. So we went over to dig him out. Two other neighbors came over, too, so between the six of us, it only took about 20 minutes. Then we went over to another nieghbor and did his driveway, since we're all such good people. =) After G and I had a quick snowball fight, we headed inside to warm up and thaw out. I talked to Mom and Dad, who still weren't plowed out, so there was no point in heading home that afternoon. We watched some more Olympics, then took a drive to Silver Spring, then came back for dinner. After dinner, we sat around and talked for a while, then I finally headed back to Rockville. I watched Grey's Anatomy, which was SO GOOD, and stayed up way too late reading.

Today, I am tired and full (from eating SO much yesterday!) and I just hurt ALL OVER from shoveling yesterday. All I want for Valentine's Day is a back rub!!
neebs: (Default)
So, today was not as perfect as I had hoped. I did have a bad part of my day...

I had a meeting at 2pm and the girl brought me a DOZEN Krispy Kreme donuts.

I have only managed to give away 9.

Which means there are three Krispy Kreme donuts sitting on my desk and taunting me.

Really...if this was what my bad days were like all the time, I'd totally take it!
neebs: (Default)
I am in SUCH a great mood! I feel like I could do a little happy dance all day today. =)

Yesterday I predicted that I would have a good day. I was wrong. I had a GREAT day!!

I left work a little early to hit up the post office and mail Brad his Christmas gift. (Sadly, that is not my last gift to give...but V and I are getting together on Monday to swap, so that's good!) Once I got home, I had a little snack then Dad and I headed to the airport to pick up Mom. She went to Denmark for 5 days with some friends of hers. One day, I will have enough money to be just like my mom and go galavanting around the world on fancy trips. *sigh* One day.... Anyway, we picked her up and got to hear all about her trip, which sounded like tons o' fun. I'm going to see her pictures on Sunday, so I'm really looking forward to that. AND she brought me presents!! I got these cute picture-holder-clip thingies and a SUPER cute purse! I am going to take it with me to California, because it is perfect for that trip!

After that I had to jet over to volleyball which absolutely ROCKED. We were split into four teams and all of us were pretty much evenly matched, which meant that we had to play hard. I have NEVER seen so many of us so sweaty and tired after the first hour. I really felt like I was working out, not just playing around. It was GREAT!!!

I was exhausted when I finally got home last night, so I slept really well (at least until 7:15) but I am still super thirsty from last night. My body didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, either, which is always a nice surprise! I was really productive when I got up this morning and then I had fun emails when I got into work. Today is another low-key day for me, but it's nice to have some time to get stuff done without feeling frantic about it.

Anyway, I am in SUCH a great mood today! =) Have a great Thursday! =)
neebs: (Default)
Today is going to be a good day!

Yesterday was a GREAT day!

First of all, I got a TON of people booked at work and we are very close to hiring our summer intern. Having an intern is very exciting for me, as it lets me go off an have fun this summer without having to stress super much about work. That is always a good thing!

Last night I had to go grocery shopping so G met me at Wheaton Plaza, which is halfway between our houses. We hung out in the mall for a while before heading to Gint to get me some fud. While we were talking about things, we realized that our first date had been exactly three years ago. =) That was enough to make a girl feel all mushy and shmoopy inside.

When I got home, Tania and Kym practically jumped me for the cookie dough I had promised them, and Tania made us cookies before bed time. That was fun!

I haven't been sleeping well lately...I've been waking up randomly in the middle of the night, even taking Nyquil, but I've been getting up earlier than normal and feel more awake than I have for the past few weeks. I think this might be a sign that I am FINALLY over the cold I got back at the end of January.

Today I am leaving work a little early to go to the post office and mail the last of my Christmas gifts (slacker what?) and some random stuff that people left here this weekend. Then it's off to the airport to pick up Mom from her trip to Copenhagen. Then volleyball, which is always a fun time. Plus I have a very low-key day at work, which is always nice.

That's two more motorcades today.

One was DEFINITELY Cheney--headed toward his house and it was a BIG one.

Same one passed by earlier with the same trucks from yesterday. Still wondering what that's about.
