Well, I wasn't supposed to be back until Thursday, but things went differently then we thought they would yesterday, so I am back today already!

This was a good weekend. (Well, except for one thing. We found out my 17 year old cousin is in the hospital because both of his lungs collapsed. The doctors basically have no idea what happened to the kid. They did emergency surgery on Saturday and stapled his lungs together--I think--and he's in the ICU right now. We have NO idea what his prognosis looks like. It's scary....) After I had lunch with David on Friday, I headed over to The Boy's house. We ran some errands together and then went to dinner at Red, Hot and Blue (YUMMMMMMMMM) before stopping at BlockBuster on the way home. We got "Hercules" (Disney version) to watch with his sis, who was one hurting puppy on Friday night. I got a GORGEOUS pair of opal earrings to match my necklace from two years ago, which was so sweet of him.

On Saturday I packed up stuff and headed home to mom and dad's house. G and Jes joined us for dinner, then G and I made a very "Trading Spaces" ottoman for my living room that I think is super cute. I couldn't fit it in my car today with everything else, so I'll have to get it tomorrow, but I will take pictures so everyone else can see the cuteness, too. ;) We also dyed Easter eggs, which turned out awesome. Those pictures will also be posted soon, hopefully!

Sunday G met Jes and I at church, while mom and dad sang in the choir. After church, we headed over to Deale for brunch with my dad's friends. Then it was back home to open our Easter baskets, then off to Balmer for Easter dinner with my mom's friends.

Yesterday I had off from work, so I was home. When my morning plans got changed, mom and I decided to go SHOPPING! We met up with KT and Miss Heidi and found KT's prom shoes and then went a bunch of other places. I took them to lunch at Chipotle, which was the first time any of them had ever had it, and they really liked it. We spent the rest of the night at Miss Heidi's eating yummy food and hanging out, which was fun.

Today I am back at work, but since I was prepared to not be here, I don't really have anything to do! I have a group coming in tonight, but I don't need to be here since everything is all set for them to let themselves in. I've discovered that when you work for a church, the week before a church holiday is slow because everyone is prepping for it and the week after is slow because everyone is recovering from it! But that can be nice, since I don't have to worry about being crazy busy today.

Finally!

I finally had a low-keyish weekend. Which I have been desperately needing!

Friday was a busy day at work for me. I had things to do, then lunch with David. G came by earlier than he was originally planning so we walked from here down to GWU for an ice cream cone, then over to the White House before we realized that I had to be back for an Orientation, so we better find dinner. We ended up at a Chipotle which was SO FREAKING GOOD, even though I didn't think I really wanted it originally. After my Orientation, we were meeting V and friends at a club about 6 blocks away for V's birthday...but they were running super late. So G and I hung around in my office reading (him textbook, me trash book) until we decided to head over. Luckily, the pouring down rain had stopped, so we didn't get totally drenched. Since I had cute shoes on, we drove around looking for parking and with my karma, we found a spot less than a block away. We had fun at the club for a while, but once the lame-ass club techno crap came on, I got a huge headache from the bass line and the insect noise (I swear, that's what it sounded like) so we left.

Saturday I slept in and did NOTHING!!!!!!! Actually, that's not totally true...I did laundry, cleaned my room, organized my financial stuffs, downloaded pics off my computer and watched a lot of tv. But other than that...it was all relaxing! I headed over to G's house and we went up to Baltimore to see his mom for dinner, which was fun. We stoppped at Giant on the way home to buy brownie mix and made that for dessert, which was so good!

Sunday I met my mom and dad at church, then mom and I went shopping. I got Harry Potter 4 on DVD (YAY!!!!!!!), burnable cd's, hangers, and my prescription. When we got home, dad and I worked on the crossword puzzle and then the three of us walked around the yard looking at all their pretty landscaping stuff. Oh, and we talked about my sister because she is a brat and never comes home. ;) (This is a JOKE, Jes. I am JUST KIDDING. Do NOT get offended!) After that I went for a run and almost made it 2 miles. This was a Big Deal for me and I feel very accomplished. After that mom and dad left for dinner and I jumped in the shower before youth group. It was Parent Appreciation Night, so we had a pizza party with the parents and kids. Chris showed up, which was surprising, and we had a fun time talking with him afterwards. I headed home and watched the end of The Italian Job with Kym and Tania and then we watched a repeat Gray's Anatomy that neither Tania nor I had seen. (There was this one scene where this woman's heart bursts into flames while they are performing open heart surgery on her...and she doesn't die. Woah.) I talked to G pretty late, then went to bed.

I have been pretty busy so far today and this week is only going to stay as busy as this. I will be out until next Wed. or Thurs. so I have to not only get everything done for this week, but next week as well. Eep. Oh, and I am the only church representative here today. Lovely.

Here's why:

Friday afternoon G picked me up from work and we went down to the Tidal Basin to see the Cherry Blossoms. Our original plan was to see the trees, catch a 5pm movie, grab dinner at 7pm and get me back to work by 9pm to handle my group. That didn't end up happening, though. It took us a while to find parking, but when we finally did, we decided to walk allllll the way around the tidal basin to see all the pretty trees. It was so fun. I took a ton of pictures that I will be downloading tonight, hopefully! I tried to do some artistic black and white, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how they turn out. Then my group ended up calling me around 7 to say they were about an hour away, which means they were an hour early. EARLY? That never happens! G and I ended up at a Thai resturant just down the street from the church and grabbed dinner before they showed up.

While I was doing the Orientation, G's friends called to tell us about a party in Arlington, so when I finished, we were off to VA. We stopped for some ice cream on the way and then we met up with Nick and Eugene. We got there about 10 and there were 2 kegs. We sat around upstairs in the living room hanging out and around 11:45, this girl comes in and says "The kegs are tapped, but there's some beer in the fridge downstairs." Ok, thanks for the info. Fifteen minutes later, one of the girls who lived in the house walks up to the front door, flicks the lights on and off and yells "There's no beer left, the party is over, GET OUT." So, basically, they kicked us out at midnight. LAAAAAAAAME!! But on our way out, Eugene checked the fridge and found a 24 pack of beer still in it, so he and Nick took that to continue the party elsewhere. ;) G and I headed home and ended up talking until waaaaaaaay later than either one of us should have been up.

Saturday I woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, got some stuff together, and drove go G's house. We went running and did some sprints/footwork stuff for about an hour, then grabbed quick showers and headed up to Baltimore for his Aunt's baby shower. I was the "official" photographer for the event, so I took another ton of pictures (after G ran out to replace my batteries when both of my sets and his extras failed). There was SO MUCH good food there--the BEST crab dip I've ever had, crab balls, spanikopita, fresh fruit (YUM pineapple!), cake....it goes on and on! I got the soon-to-be new parents some books and a picture frame and a little girl's outfit, cuz that's what I'm pushing for. Sadly, there were several boys outfits, so my karma might not work too well. But I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

After the party started to break up, G and his sister and cousins and I went for a little drive to a snowball stand and had yummy snowballs. We hung around B-more for a little while longer, then we headed home. On the way, G and I stopped at BlockBuster. We were trying to decide between "Prime" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin." I asked if his mom was going to watch with us and he said probably not, so we go "The 40 Year Old Virgin"--the unrated version. Good thing his mom decided she DID want to watch it with us. A.W.K.W.A.R.D. She decided about 20 minutes in that maybe this was not something she wanted to watch after all, so she went to bed. G and I finished the movie and then we realized that it was late and then we realized that it was even later because of Daylight Savings time, so I left.

After another mere 6 hours of sleep that night, I got up and headed to church on Sunday. After church I jetted home to see mom and dad for a bit. We ended up getting subs and taking them to church while they got ready for their last performance. After that I headed to the bank and then met some peeps at the movie theater for "V for Vendetta." Too bad we were an hour early for the show! So we ended up at TGIFriday's and I had an Ultimate Mudslide before we headed back to the theater. WOW. Good movie! It reminded me of the book "1984" but with someone who wants to do something about it. And I only shrieked out loud once in the whole movie. Yes, I cringed a lot, but shreiking was held to a minimum!

The movie got out just in time for me to run back to church for youth group. After we did some planning, we went outside on the playground for the rest of the night. I got a blister teaching the kids how to spin each other on the tire swing and make themselves very ill in doing so. We had one girl who I think puked on the car ride home...I hope we don't get phone calls about that! After I left, I called mom for an update on the Lady Terps game (final four in the women's NCAA tourney) and found out it was not on radio. BOOO. So instead I went waaaaaay faster than normal on the beltway and made it to G's house in record time and saw the end of the game, which we WON. YAY!!!! At least one of our basketball teams is worth watching. After that we watched "Gray's Anatomy" and then we talked more and then it was late again and I had to go.

I got more than 6 hours of sleep last night, amazingly enough, but the best part is that I am AWAKE and energetic today! The rain has held off so far and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it does for a little while longer, since I really want to go running when I get home from work. I've been super busy at work so far today, but that's good--it feels nice to check off a whole bunch of things on my to-do list!

Yeah. It's been a long, busy past few days.

Thursday my sister and I met up at G's house for dinner, then it was off to home.

Friday morning was another doctors appointment that took for-freakin-ever. After that, it was off to the mall for some shopping for my mom since it was her birthday. I took her to Round Robin for lunch and the waitress announced to the whole resturant (unprompted by me!!) that my mom was turning 21 again. ;) It was cute. We got a free sundae, which was quite good. After the mall, I met up with G's fam and we went to the viewing for most the evening. I stayed at their house that night so we could get up early Saturday.

Saturday was the funeral. I got to see G's church for the first time, though, and wow, Greek Orthodox is pretty! After we got back from that, G and I went to Columbia mall to get my mom a birthday present and to get ourselves dessert. I stayed at his house again that night.

Sunday G was going to come to church and then out for my mom's birthday with us, but instead he ended up taking relatives to the airport, so I went off to church by myself. Mom, Dad, Jes and I went to Grace's Fortune for a lunch buffet, then it was back home for gifts. They had to go to church to get ready for their play and G missed them by 5 minutes. He and I went to Giant for flowers and groceries, then grabbed him some dinner. He, Jes and I headed to church and watched Dad in "Crazy for You." We couldn't watch Mom because she was a stage hand and isn't seen. =P After the show, it was back to their house. Jes took her chinchilla and left and G and I hung around until almost midnight talking to my parents before we left. I got home about 12:40 and then it was off to bed.

Today has been WOAHCRAZYBUSY until just about now. The rest of my week should be pretty busy, too, so on the plus side, I won't be bored this week! I am still tired, though. *Sigh* so much for that day off giving me my much needed rest. That's coming up soon, though...

I need a weekend where all I do is sit around and do nothing. I haven't had one of those in what feels like forever. This weekend was no exception...

Friday G picked me up in Bethesda where we went to Barnes and Noble for a bit then met up with his sister and her boyfriend for dinner at this Indian Resturant. Apparently, I don't like Indian food. They promised it wouldn't be spicy--and when G tried my dish, he said it was the spiciest Indian food he ever had. Yeah. After dinner, we drove to my apartment so I could get my car and follow G to his house. We parked our cars and hopped in his friend Ira's car and we were off to Ellicott City. In Ellicott City, we parked Ira's car and hopped into their friend Dan's minivan and headed into downtown Baltimore. Dan is just finishing med school and got into his number one choice for residency, so we went out to celebrate. I volunteered to be the DD (which was pretty funny, given that I am the only one with Irish ancestry and it was St. Patrick's Day) but I still had a fun time. We went to three different bars and all had good music. Excellent! We left Balmer around 1:15, got to Ellicott City around 1:45 and back to G's house around 2:00. I got home around 2:30 but had to take a shower since I was covered in cigarette smoke.

I got to wake up early on Saturday and drive BACK to Baltimore (Catonsville, technically) to put the second coat of primer on my cousin's room. On the way back to my house, I stopped by G's for a little bit, then jetted back to my house for a quick shower and it was back to G's. Dan and Rach brought over some BBQ and we hung out with them for a little on Saturday evening.

Sunday I was up and heading to church when I realized I was going to be late and I didn't have any money for the offering anyway, so instead I went home. I did laundry, played with Jessie's chinchilla and changed my oil, then it was off to youth group in the afternoon. We took the kids swimming, but I sat and watched them. They asked me why I wasn't going to swim and I told them I still had my winter body and I wasn't ready to be in summer outfits yet. *Sigh* I really need to get on that. California is coming up quick... After we got back from swimming, it was back home. We had some friends over for dinner and to celebrate my mom's birthday and Miss Heidi's birthday. Lots of good food, good drink, and good CAKE was had by all! Plus, I offered to take Katie prom dress shopping and she wants a hot pink prom dress, so that will be tons o' fun!! I got home a little after 10 and watched Gray's Anatomy with Kym and Tania while Tania and I both worked on projects. It was "arts and crafts night" at our place! I talked to G and went to bed way too late for how tired I was, but the frosting from the cake was keeping me up hardcore. OH and my mom bought me a hot pink electric toothbrush which I used last night for the first time and I am now convinced I have cavaties, which means I need to go to the dentist, which makes me upset just thinking about it. I really really really hate the dentist.

This morning I got a late start, but am all caught up here at work. I was planning on taking Friday off, but now I need to do things on Wed. and Friday might not work anyway, so I am trying to figure out what needs to be done so that I am not swamped on Thursday. I also balanced my checkbook, which had been off by a significant amount, but I am all squared away now. I am tired of having to pay bills, though. I never realized how nice it was to have mom and dad pay for everything back in the day!

This weekend was crazy. CRAZY!!!

Thursday night I watched Maryland win and go to the second round of the ACC tournament. And that was all the MD happiness I had for the rest of the weekend.

Friday I ended up driving into work and then drove out to G's house for dinner. We ordered Chinese food and sat outside on the deck to eat because it was SO freaking nice out. I left around 7:15 to head to Dan and Rach's house so G could study some more. Rach and I went out shopping to Target and Kohl's. I was looking for a dress to wear to the wedding in CA and a gift for G's Aunt's baby shower. At Target, I got a pair of flip-flops, a pair of brown shoes, a pair of hot pink gym shorts, two boxes of cereal, and a dress to wear around CA but not nice enough to wear to the wedding. If you read carefully, you'll notice that I didn't actually NEED any of that!! (Well, except for the cereal.) At Kohl's, Rach and I spent about an hour in the baby clothes section fussing over all the adorable little girl baby stuff. Sorry boys. Baby girl stuff is WAY cuter. I ended up getting a cute picture frame for the shower and I'm going to find something else, too. (Ideas?) I also got St. Patrick's Day socks for me, Kym and Tania. =) After shopping, we got some Pilsbury cinnamon rolls to make for dessert. We were planning on watching the MD vs. BC game, but stupid Comcast wasn't showing it. @#($*^!@(#*^!*@&$^ I had plenty of choice words for that idea. Instead, Rach and I looked at all of her cool jewelry making stuff and then watched Dan play Tiger Woods golf while we ate our cinnamon rolls.

I left around midnight and headed to mom and dad's house. My uncle is a track coach and he is in town with one of his sprinters for a national meet over in Landover. The girl and her mom were in my room and Jessie's room and my uncle was in the guest room, which left....a couch (not a pull out) for me. That wasn't too bad. What WAS too bad was that I got home around 12:40 and realized that I had left my bag of toiletries on my bed at my apartment. Luckily, I found an extra contact case and solution under the sink in the guest bathroom.

Saturday I woke up around 8 (earlier than I do for work!) and got ready to go to the White House with my mom, Uncle, track star, and track star's mom. It was cool to see the White House, but at the same time, I think I was expecting a whole lot more. After the tour, we ate at the Reagan building and then went to Ford's Theater and the house where Lincoln died, which was cool in a nerdy, historic way. After that, mom and I headed home while the rest went to the track meet. From home, I headed up to Baltimore to start painting my cousin's room Harry Potterish. We got the first coat of Killz primer on in less than 2 hours, which bodes well for finishing the rest of the room! (Side note: Killz stinks to high heaven. Holy smack, is it headache inducing!) After that, I headed to Rockville to eat dinner, shower, and get ready to go to a party with G. He picked me up around 9:30 and we met up with all of his friends from high school and had a ton of fun at the party. I got to talk to the couple getting married in CA and they are so great. I love them! They are so California chill and relaxed about everything! We got home from the party around 1 and G and I hung out until about 2 and then he left and I passed out.

Sunday I got up at 9:30 and headed to church. The sermon was really great this week--all about use the bible as a guideline to living your life, not as GOD'S WORD WRITTEN DOWN FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!!!!!! Also, that Jesus came here to teach us one thing: LOVE each other. That's really all he wants us to do. Anyway, I liked it. I poked Erik awake a couple times and he probably would have done the same to me if he hadn't been nodding off more than I was. ;) After church I headed home and baked cookies for G while watching the ACC Championship game. DAMN I hate Duke. I helped my dad with some yard work, then he helped me with a Secret Project, then I baked more cookies, then they all (mom, dad, uncle, track star, track star's mom) went out to dinner while I headed to Youth Group. We watched "Sky High" and ate pizza, which was great. After youth group, I stopped by G's house to drop off his cookies and then finally got home around 10:30. I watched the end of "Grey's Anatomy" with Tania and Kym and then showered and went to bed.

I woke up this morning at 8:30 and was in my office at 9:45 so I could leave at 11 to meet everyone (mom, dad, uncle, track star, track star's mom) at the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Track star and I got free milkshakes because they forgot to bring them to us but left us the check for them. Nice! I had to leave because my group called me but I really like the woman who is here this week, so I just spent an hour talking with her and things look good. I have some (as in a LOT of) errands to run tonight and Tania is feeding Kym and I turkey meatloaf and garlic mashed potatos. YUM!

Oh, and also, it's 81 degrees today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet. It's supposed to get worse as the week goes on, but oh well. This week is super busy for me but next week I finally have a break, which is good becuase I just realized yesterday that G's spring break starts on Thursday (since he doesn't have Friday classes) so I am looking forward to having time and him having time and us spending time together!

So that's why I am tired today and will probably continue to be tired throughout the week. But it's worth it.
neebs: (daffydil)
I went to a different metro stop today so I could have a little extra walking in since it was nice out and on my way, I passed DAFFODILS!!!!!!!!! Not just the shoots, but ones with flowers out already. YAY!!!!!! They are my favorite flower AND they mean that spring is on the way. That made me very happy. My inbox did not, but I'm getting ahead of myself...

This weekend was really good. On Friday, I went to G's house for dinner with him and his mom and then while he studied, his mom and I went to the mall. After we got back, G and I headed over to College Park for a party which was really fun. Also--the house was GORGEOUS. Dang. I want to have a house like that one day...

Saturday I was hoping to get up to Baltimore to start painting my cousin's room, but it turns out they were out of town this weekend. So instead, I bummed around my apartment, not really doing anything. G came over and we rested for a while (I had fallen asleep while waiting for him to arrive) and then we headed into DC for dinner. The place we wanted to go was closed, so we drove BACK to Rockville where their other resturant is. We finally ate around 9:30, and dang were we hungry!! We went for a drive around MoCo's bumpkinville afterwards and had a lot of fun. Then it was back to my house to watch some SNL and then time for bed.

Sunday I went to church and then headed to Mom and Dad's house. I had to run some errands and got some fun stuffs and groceries. We had an early dinner, since mom had a meeting, and after eating and having half a pitcher of Mom's daiquiris, Dad and I were both almost falling asleep. So we went downstairs to the comfy couches to watch the UMD vs. UVA game, which MD barely won. Seriously, these guys need to play BETTER. They almost give me a heart attack every time!! After that, I headed to youth group where E-Nizzy and I rocked the church. We had a good session with some CRAZY HYPER kiddos and then the girls totally kicked the boys butts at Win, Lose or Draw. Cuz girls rule and boys drool. ;) I got home and watched the Oscars with Kym and Tania, which was fun, and I really enjoyed some of the presentations and acceptance speeches. Also, I hugely *heart* Reese Witherspoon.

Today started out great until I got to work and had a nasty email in my inbox, which turned out to be quite possibly the dumbest email ever written, since I had done nothing wrong and it was, in fact, the other person who was mistaken. But in the process, this email has managed to irritate and anger me for almost five hours now and I still feel like I really just want to gripe about it. I hate that. I was having such a good day...and then drama. BLAH.

Anywho, today has been busy and productive, with more to come. Hopefully the rest of this week will not have as much drama...but who knows.

This weekend was busy, but in a low-key kind of way.

On Friday, I went home and did some stuff around the house while G studied. We met up around 9:30 and went for a drive up to Gaithersburg and ended up at this sushi place. Now, I don't really like sushi...but man, that was some good stuff!!

Saturday I was woken up at 8 frickin 45 in the morning by drilling, pounding, and radio playing from the condo next to us. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? Those #*&$%@*#&$%'s were SO loud that I could hear them over my tv. Poor Tania was woken up by it, too, and she was still feeling pretty icky with the flu. I felt bad for her. =( I picked up G around 5 and we headed to my church for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser where we met up with my dad. (My mom is in Disneyworld. What a punk.) Dinner was good, but the cake for dessert was better!! We went back to my dad's house for a while and G and my dad talked model cars (and we found out that my dad has over TWO HUNDRED cars) and we showed G that there are 3 more closets in our house FULL of kits that he never knew about. His eyes lit up like it was Christmas!! I almost fell asleep while he and my dad were talking, but luckily my toothache kept me awake. I popped some advil and then we were on our way to Cohoon's house. We stopped at Giant on the way for some snacks, then headed over. Erik and Joe came over, too, and we played pool, ate snacks, and watched this stand-up redneck comedy that was HILARIOUS.

Sunday I went to church and then my dad and I came home for lunch. We went ice skating for youth group (and I didn't fall!) and on my way home I stopped for my prescriptions and groceries. Dad and I watched the Terps SUCK while I tried my hand at baking. I wanted to make a "healthy" version of sugar cookies, so I used a low-fat recipe and used whole wheat flour instead of white. They turned out more cinnamonny than sugary, but they were pretty good. After dinner I finished frosting the cookies, then headed toward my house. I got all of a mile away when the oil light came on in my car, so I headed back to dad's house. We checked my oil and there was NOTHING registering on the dipstick. So dad added 2 quarts while I checked the maintenance log of my car. Last time the oil was recorded as being changed: 148,000 miles. In 2004. My car now: 161,000 miles. In 2006. NOT GOOD. (Except we're both pretty sure that we've changed it at least once since then and just forgot to record it.) Suffice to say we will be changing my oil the next time it gets warm enough to be outside for half an hour! When I finally got back on the road, I called G and asked him if he wanted to try my baking disaster. He actually liked the cookies, so I traded him for some Greek style ones that I really like. Sweet! I got home and went straight to bed.

Today is a pretty slow day for me. I don't have a lot going on until this afternoon, but I am starting to feel a little run down, so I plan on going home and going to bed as early as possible. I don't think I am coming down with the flu or even a cold; I think that I am just tired out from late nights and early mornings this weekend. Supposedly it's going to snow this afternoon, so I am hoping that either it starts late enough that I am not walking in it or it starts early and ends before I have to walk. Either way--I don't want to be walking in snow!!

(At least it feels like I've used that subject that many times!)

This weekend was really low-key for us. G picked me up from the metro and we got a pizza on the way home. We booked our hotel for the Highway 101 part of our CA trip and then played some Dukes of Hazzard. We still didn't unlock the demolition derby though. GRRRR.

Saturday I just bummed around the house all day. I can't remember what I did. Oh, I cleaned my room, which was important later. I also slept until noon, so maybe that's why it seems like I didn't really do anything! G picked me up and we went into Bethesda and had dinner with some friends of his at Austin Grill. It was really good, I'd never been before. They're also going to be at the wedding this summer, so we talked a little about our plans, then conversation turned to Greece, since they'll be going there in September for their honeymoom. (G will be in that wedding, which means hottie in a tux!!) It was WAY too cold to walk around Bethesda after we ate, so we headed back to my apartment and played "Battle of the Sexes" which the girls won. Twice. G's friends left after that so he and I watched "Fallen" and then "The Cosby Show" with Tania before getting tired and going to bed.

Sunday I went to church and then we had youth group right after. We tagged teddy bears and next week (possibly?) we will be taking them to nursing homes. Mom and I did some shopping on the way home and then I just bummed around their house for the rest of the day looking at pictures of my mom when she was little and at a scrapbook my grandma made for my dad when he was a baby through high school. THAT was a fun time! Dinner was salmon steaks and asparagus and YUM! I was hoping to leave by 9, but Jes called right around then and I stayed to talk to her, so I finally got on the road at 10 something.

Yesterday I came into work to get a comp day, since I'll probably take a day off over G's Spring Break. It's amazing how much work I got done with no one else here and no screaming little children running around like crazy!! I think I finished everything I needed to do for the rest of the week almost! Also, there's lots of drama at work right now, but hopefully that will clear up pretty soon.

Not long weekend like I am not at work today, but long weekend as in, DAMN, Friday was three days ago???

To recap:

Friday I left work a little early and G picked me up at the metro. We went to AAA and got maps and tourbooks for our trip to CA this summer. YAY!!! AAA is right by the ghetto mall, so we walked around there for a little bit trying to decide where to go for dinner and then G bought me a pretty pink sparkly piece of jewelry. We decided to head back down to Georgetown for BBQ at Old Glory and we got a parking space super close. Dinner was GREAT-I had pulled pork and he had pulled ribs, YUM!-and afterwards we went to Dean & Deluca for some yummy raspberry candies. I had a group coming in about 9:30 and we finished dinner around 8, so it wasn't worth it to head back to Rockville and wait, so we came back here to my office. We ended up down in the living room where we could kinda get the Opening Ceremonies on tv without too my static. While watching the ceremonies, I started looking through the tour books and found some more fun things for us to do. At some point I had to come up to my office to check my messages (since I don't get reception in the basement) and while we were in my office, we decided to book a hotel room for the night of the wedding. So that's done...that just leaves 8 more nights of hotel rooms to go!

My group finally got here around 10...and the other half finally arrived about 15 minutes later. The kids were pretty obnoxious, the leaders were either super unfriendly or friendly but didn't take anything I said seriously and were basically not a group that was worth being at work until 11 for. Also, with the snow coming in I felt like I needed to give them options in case they got snowed in, but they didn't really want to hear it, so I said screw it.

Saturday I woke up pretty early despite having been up late. I met G at his house around 12:30 and then we headed to his friends house for the MD vs. Duke game. One of his high school friends went to Duke (most of the rest of them went to MD) and came to watch the game with us too, so we had someone to rub it into our face how badly we lost! (Luckily, Nick has more class than that, so he didn't really say much of anything!) After the game, it started snowing, but not too bad, so we watched a Chris Rock HBO special and then left. I stayed for dinner at G's house and by the time I was ready to leave, it was pretty bad outside. I tried to go to my mom's house but I only made it about 3 miles in 10 minutes before G called to see how the roads were and when I told him how bad it was, he told me to come back. So I did. We watched some Olympics and then headed to bed.

Sunday I woke up super early for me (9:30!!) but still felt pretty well rested. Looking outside, there was probably about 10 inches of snow. Dang! After breakfast, G, his sister and I went out to shovel off the driveway and after we did theirs, we headed over to his neighbor's house. The nieghbor is an older man, mid 50's with medical problems, and the snow plow had pushed all of the snow in front of his driveway. In the time it took us to shovel G's driveway, he had only done his sidewalk. So we went over to dig him out. Two other neighbors came over, too, so between the six of us, it only took about 20 minutes. Then we went over to another nieghbor and did his driveway, since we're all such good people. =) After G and I had a quick snowball fight, we headed inside to warm up and thaw out. I talked to Mom and Dad, who still weren't plowed out, so there was no point in heading home that afternoon. We watched some more Olympics, then took a drive to Silver Spring, then came back for dinner. After dinner, we sat around and talked for a while, then I finally headed back to Rockville. I watched Grey's Anatomy, which was SO GOOD, and stayed up way too late reading.

Today, I am tired and full (from eating SO much yesterday!) and I just hurt ALL OVER from shoveling yesterday. All I want for Valentine's Day is a back rub!!

WE ARE *OFFICIALLY* GOING TO CALIFORNIA THIS SUMMER!!!!

After work on Friday, G picked me up and we went to his house for Chinese food with his mom. After dinner, we booked our flight and looked into hotel and car reservations. (Need to go to AAA to see if we can get some discounts through them before we book those!) This will now be four major birthdays that I'll miss spending with the fam. (16 at ASP, 18 in Africa, 21 on ASP and now 25 at a wedding in CA!) The past three have been worth it--I am guessing this one will be, too! =)

On Saturday morning, I woke up and made a Target run with Tania. Then she and Kym went to Montgomery Mall, but I had to go to White Flint to pick up my pictures, so I didn't get to go with them there. After I got my pictures, I went to Borders to see if I could find any books on driving Highway 101 out in CA, since that's part of our trip this summer, but nothing really stood out to me. I went to AC Moore Crafts afterwards and got this huge 28-opening picture frame on clearance for $14.50, which I am excited about using for a new Project. I think I want to find baby pictures of me and Jes and our mom and dad and then throw in a couple of G and his sister (since they are so darn cute too!) and frame 'em all up. We'll see how that goes...

After running my errands, I spent about an hour organizing my pictures into chronological order, then got about 1/6 of them put in an album in another hour. I went to G's house and we headed to Silver Spring to meet up with his friend Eugene. After a less than stellar performance at Chick-fil-A (seriously, the girl who took my order was an idiot) we were back at another Borders to meet Eugene. We decided to go to Coldstone Creamery for dessert and we waited in line for AN HOUR AND A HALF. And there were...maybe 20 people ahead of us. The guys working there were even dumber than the Chick-fil-A girl. Ugh. But my Strawberry Shortcake ice cream was totally worth it, plus we got to talk and hang out, which was what we wanted in the first place. After ice cream, we went back to Borders (again!) to look at some books, then headed home. I went home after Weekend Update on SNL, since we were both falling asleep at that point.

Sunday I woke up late, skipped breakfast, and raced to church. Jes came in even later than I did, so I felt less bad. ;) We had a great sermon, then Jes and I went down to Fellowship Hall to find Dad. We talked to him for a little bit, then Jes left and I changed into scrubby clothes. Yesterday was our Middle School vs. High School UMYF Superbowl Game. I QB'd at first and almost threw a touchdown, but it was not to be, so the High Schoolers took over right at our endzone. After a quick interception by one of my co-counselors, the Middle Schoolers had the ball back. I passed on QBing and ended up as a reciever and caught the first touchdown of the day!!! (And had a nifty little touchdown dance! =P)

After the Mudbowl ended, I headed back home to spend some more time with Dad. We looked through some old photos of my mom to help me with my Project, but we couldn't find any of him, so we have to wait for Mom to get home and tell us where they are. (My Mom went to Copenhagen for the week with some friends, since she's never been before. Yeah. Talk about disposable income!) I headed over to G's and made it a little before 6, so we were off to Giant for burrito fixin's, a la Chipotle. We had a YUM dinner with his mom, then watched the game. YAY STEELERS!!! This is the first time that "my team" has won the Superbowl when G and I have watched it together. Afterwards, we watched "Grey's Anatomy" which was quite excellent, but left us with a cliffhanger. I hate that!!!

Today I am sooo sleeeeeepy!! Apparently, everyone is, though, since I talked to both our office administrator and maintenance guy and they both said they were dragging today as well. But I am super happy from this weekend and I am getting totally excited about planning our CA trip! I'm probably going to take off a little early on Thursday to meet G at the AAA office near him so we can get books and maps and all that other fun stuff AAA gives you!
neebs: (Default)
Friday I worked and then headed over to meet up with Kym and peeps for Happy Hour. G picked me up from there and we grabbed dinner from Moby Dick's and brought it back to my office since there was no parking available anywhere else. We met up with his friend Ben and drove around the city for a little bit, chatting it up, before dropping Ben off at a lounge.

Saturday I woke up when Kym yelled at the TV since MD was sucking it up against Miami in the first ACC bball game of the season. I watched them lose-BOO-and put most of my MP3's on CD before my burner overheated. I headed over to G's for dinner and after dinner we went with his mom to Lowe's to look at some stuff. We came back for ice cream, then G and I played the Dukes of Hazzard PlayStation game I got him for Christmas. It was actually a lot of fun!

Sunday I went to church, then mom and I went to College Park for lunch and an Ikea trip. I got the cutest little end table and a coffee table on sale for what the coffee table alone should have cost. Good deal! We were home for a little bit, then I had to head into work. That went pretty quick and I was home by 6. Tania, Kym and I watched the "Stillers" game and Kym was very pumped they won. I went upstairs to put my end table together and then finish burning my MP3's. I watched Family Guy and talked to G, then called my mom and found out that my sister has a severe ear infection but flew to CO this morning to go snowboarding. She was not doing so hot this morning, so I'm pretty worried about her.

Things didn't go exactly as planned, but it was all good.

Friday I was at G's house helping to get all the food ready for the party and WOW there was a lot of food!!

Saturday I ended up staying the night at G's after the last guest left around 3:30. A FABULOUS time was had by all, though! His mom introduced a little Greek tradition into things at midnight, which was great. MY mom was HILARIOUS when I called to say Happy New Year. My phone doesn't work in G's house so I had to use his, which is an unfamiliar number to her. When she answered the phone and I said "Happy New Year!" my mom replied "Where are you??? Have you been ARRESTED?!?!?!" That amused me!

Sunday I ran home and was gone from G's for about 1 1/2 hours to shower and change and then it was back for his family New Year's Day party. Lots of food. TONS of food. WAAAAAAAY too much food. I was stuffed!!!

Monday I got up, took down Xmas decorations, then headed home to do some shopping with Mom. Dinner with Jes, Erik, her friend Evan and then headed to Wheaton to meet G for some walking at Wheaton Plaza. We went into Finish Line and I found the cutest yellow and baby blue New Balances and asked if they had them in a Women's 11, since NO ONE ever does. Well....they did. And I tried them on. And I love them. Present tense, because I bought them and wore them today. My credit card bill did NOT need that. Eeps.

Today was busy but productive at work, including a jaunt down to Staples to get ny 2006 wall calendar to see how busy I am. Tomorrow should be just as productive, with a group arriving around 5 to help motivate me to stay!!

Wednesday
Went to a holiday lunch with my boss and my friend David and exchanged gifts. Got yummy smelling candles and brown sugar body scrub. YUM!! Spent the afternoon driving around with my boss to drop off holiday goodies for our service providers, then went to a vigil to remember all those homeless people who have died during the past year. Got home, got picked up by G, went to dinner for one of his friend's birthday. Spent the night at G's house because....

Thursday
Mary's (G's sister) graduation day! Went to UMD early and watched Mary get her diploma. Went to Eggspectations in Silver Spring for brunch. Headed back to the G's house and can't remember what happened. On the way to taking me home, we finished his Christmas shopping. I packed things up that night to spend the weekend in Gambrills.

Friday
Went to work for a little while and spent 2 hours on the metro running around DC dropping off holiday goodies for my service providers that we didn't get to on Thursday. Headed home and did some last minute shopping on the way (liquor and cards.) Went to Miss Heidi's with the fam; G met us there. After that we went home and Erik came by so mom and dad gave the boys their Xmas gifts. Went to bed late.

Saturday
Got up and went to Giant and Dollar Store with Jes to get groceries and gingerbread house decorations. Made what might go down in history as the Greatest Gingerbread House Ever Put Together By The McClurg Sisters. Headed off to G's house for Xmas Eve dinner. Got sideswiped in a hit and run on the way. Finally made it to G's house about an hour late. Had a yummy shrimp dinner and exchanged gifts with his fam. Got to church five minutes before the Xmas Eve service started. Took Erik home with us and saw some Xmas lights, then hung out until late.

Sunday
Got up at 11 to open presents. Finished at 2. Got more clothes than other gifts, but I am cool with that! Got HP4 book, shot glasses to use, smelly candles, piggy bank, HOT PINK LUGGAGE and more stuff I can't remember. Erik dropped off his crazy dogs. Had dinner with the fam and mom's friends. Talked to the boy and went to bed.

Monday
Mom and I went to the Dollar Store and got all the half price decorations. Went to K-Mart and got storage containers for all my new Xmas decorations. Came home and went to neighbor's party where I GOT TO HOLD THE BABY!!!!!!!! Came home and watched TV with Jes and Erik's crazy dogs until G came over. Exchanged gifts (I got a pink watch and the Cinderella DVD--YAY!!!!!!!!!!!) and went to dinner. G had a humungous Long Island Iced Tea so I drove home and took the long way to see more fun lights. Hung out with the fam and Erik's crazy dogs, then G left.

Today
At work. Have a lunch with a board member at 1. Hoping to be back at mom and dad's by 5:30 for dinner, then home to Rockville tonight finally. G will be coming with me to Rockville to carry all of my things up because there is a LOT.

Tomorrow
At work. Two groups arrive. Busy day for Jen.

Thursday
Going to New York City with G, Rach, Dan, and meeting Kelly and Steve-O. Should be a grand old time!!

Sunday
Recovering from Saturday.

Monday
Life starts again!

This weekend was a crazy busy blast o' fun.

Friday I went to G's house for dinner (he made me a yummy omelet with ham, cheddar, red peppers and mushrooms) then headed to Cohoon's house to meet up with peeps while he went to Arlington with his boys. I got there WAY before Jes, Erik and Joe, so I got to lose to Chris and his roomie Ed in any type of pool we could play. That was enjoyable. When the rest of the kiddos got there, we played some more pool and Chris downloaded some Itunes for me because he just rocks that much. Also, I tripped going up the stairs, which made him laugh. I am all about bringing joy and happiness to others! After a few more rounds of pool, we popped in some Family Guy. We watched two episodes before I decided I was too tired to stay anymore.

Saturday I got up, cleaned, went to the grocery store with Tania, went for a run, took a shower, got dressed for my party, partied until 2 with my friends and until 4 with Kym and Tania's friends, and fell asleep sometime after 4:30.

Sunday I woke up feeling icky and tired, probably from the Saturday activities. I showered then went downstairs and threw all of the cans and bottles into recycling bags, then headed to mom and dad's house. I made cookies and sat around resting, then headed to youth group. We helped out with the rotating shelter last night and it was an incredibly amazing experience for me. (The rotating shelter is at each church for a week at a time and is a way for homeless people to get off the streets in the coldest of winter.) I always send groups out to places like this for my job, but rarely do I get the chance to have the interaction.

Last night I made my junior high kids talk and socialize with our shelter guests since they said they were afraid of homeless people and I wanted them to see that we are all the same. While we circled up to pray for dinner, I stood next to a woman and her daughter. After we prayed, I introduced myself to them and learned that Whitney was 10 and in fifth grade. Most of my girls are in sixth or seventh grade, so I introduced all of them and for the rest of the night, they were inseperable. I felt like I couldn't NOT talk to our guests since I had just made my kiddos do it, so I had dinner with Aaron last night and it was great. We talked about living in DC and not liking the Redskins (he's Dallas, I'm Packers), the different dogs we've had, his health problems, why he's on the street, my party on Saturday night, and who knows what else. We ended our conversation when they opened up the stage which was CHOCK FULL of donated clothes from our church and Aaron went to see if he could find a winter coat.

As I was getting ready to leave, I saw Whitney again and asked her if she had liked hanging out with the girls and she said she had. I also asked her if she had gotten anything from the clothes on stage and she showed me her adorable new winter coat. I was so moved by all of this that when I got to G's house to drop off his "Good luck on your exam" cookies, I was almost in tears. I feel like sometimes I am not doing enough to change the world and make it a better place and it drives me crazy because I just don't know what else to do!!! Luckily for me, G is one of the most understanding people I have ever met and he helped talk me through things. He's so wonderful!

So all in all, it was quite the weekend and I am exhausted from it. I am medicating like nobodies business and hydrating and eating clemintines for Vitamin C and by golly, I WILL NOT BE SICK FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR!!! It's all about mind over matter!!

I've been MIA lately.

On Thursday I went to work feeling just fine. Around 11 I got a headache. Like a tear-your-brain-apart-with-no-regard-to-how-much-it's-going-to-hurt type of headache. It was migraine strenth and migraine pain, but usually with my migraines I get SUPER sensitive to light and I was fine except for the pounding in my head. As I got up to go look for Advil, I ended up feeling like I was going to throw up so I went running down the hall to the bathroom. I ended up lying down on my boss's futon and I had to call G to come pick me up. It was awful.

I still felt icky on Friday, but I made it to work for a few hours, despite the snow day. Woo comp time! Friday night G made dinner for Dan, Rach and I and we played TriBond. That was good times.

Saturday my mom and dad took G and I out to a fancy dinner for Xmas, then we went to my cousin's play. THey did "Scrooge the Musical." It was creepy. I am used to the muppet or animated Disney version, but the real one...scary. One of the scenes is Hell. Gah.

Sunday I skipped church because I still wasn't feeling great, but then went home afterward. I got a new camera since mine broke on Wednesday night, but when I got home I realized it wasn't what I wanted. We went caroling for youth group, which was fun, except for the obnoxious child that made me use my teacher voice. And I hate doing that.

Monday night I drove back to mom and dad's house.

Yesterday I had a docotors appointment and then went and got new contacts and glasses. I finished my Christmas shopping and returned my camera to get the one I wanted. I headed to G's house for dinner then went home and watched the end of "Love Actually" with Tania, Kym and TJ before going to bed.

My new glasses are a waaaaaay different prescription than what my old ones were, given that the old ones were 6 years old. No change in the contacts, so that's fine, but the glasses are giving me headaches and making me dizzy-ish and I am still not back to feeling 100% so it's not a great feeling.

Tonight is dinner out with G, tomorrow is staff lunch for work and Friday is my lunch with David. No wonder I've put on 2 pounds in the last year (per my docotor's visit).

I'm at work today. But I'm not in my office. I can't be in my office. The server dudes are in my office. They were supposed to finish on Friday (which is why I took Friday afternoon off) but they didn't and now they are still here and working on things. Working slowly, apparently. But that's ok, I don't have a ton of stuff to do. Well, then again, depending on what's in my email, I might! But for now, I'm in Ashley's office on her computer using the internet because that's what our office administrator told me I should do! I decided that if it's really snowing as crazily as it is supposed to this afternoon around 2 and the server guys are still here...I am leaving. So. That's the plan!

This past weekend was great! Friday I met my board member for lunch at Austin Grill and I had a great time. She's a producer for the Discovery Channel and has led SUCH an interesting life. It was really fun to get to know her. Then G picked me up and we went for a little drive around the area before heading back to his house. His sister's friend brought her puppy over and SO MUCH CUTENESS ensued. Especially with G playing with the puppy. Cuteness overload!! When we were done playing with the puppy, G and I set up his train in the living room and had fun playing with it. For the record, I am not a very good train driver! After that, we headed to Gint to pick up some food and YUM it was good. Steamed shrimp from Gint, chicken and potato wedges from the Amish Market, Greek salad, bread, and I can't remember what else. YUM!!!! I think we just kinda sat around stuffed for a while after that, but again, I can't remember.

Saturday was a totally chill, relaxing day for me. I woke up late (noon) and lazed around. I did clean my bathroom and vacuum my room and change my sheets, though. I also watched all of the episodes of Diddy's "Making the Band" which was great because I am now caught up and ready for the finale. Not that I am addicted to MTV or anything! After that, Tania and I watched some TV and then I got ready to go out and then while I waited for G to pick me up, Kym and Tania and I watched some TV. G and I went with his sister and two of her friends to this really good and swanky and authentic Italian resturant for dinner and then hit up the mall afterwards. Mary and her friends went their own way and G and I headed to Silver Diner for dessert. Oreo malt for him and angel food cake with strawberries for me. More yumness ensued. We got home and watched "The Wedding PLanner" with Tania and then it was sleepytime.

I went to church on Sunday morning and Jes showed up, which was a nice surprise. Then I headed out to pick up some prescriptions and hit up the Dollar Store because really, I am addicted! I got these super cute porcelain gingerbread houses that I absolutely adore!! When I got home, I helped Dad hang outside Christmas lights and then we went in when it got too cold. Grandma called as we were getting ready for dinner and mom and I spent almost an hour and a half on the phone with her trying to talk her through uninstalling and then reinstalling MS Office onto her computer. It's really hard to try to tell someone what to do when they have NO idea what you're talking about. Instead of saying "Close the window" you have to tell her to "X the rectangle." She doesn't have a "minimize" she has a "minus." Quite hilarious, but a little frustrating at the same time! UMYF served refreshments for the Christmas pageant and then after a quick grocery shopping trip it was over to Joey's for "Family Guy." I got home and talked to my boy for a while then it was straight to bed.

Today we are supposed to get three to six inches of snow, which is...well, it would be good except that I HAVE to be at work tomorrow by 11. Which is NOT so good if the metro isn't running. G said he would help me figure something out if I needed to. He's such a good boy to me!!
neebs: (Default)
Because I'm too lazy to do a long recap.

Wednesday night - G came over for family dinner and fun. Good times ensued, with watching of "Night at the Roxbury". The Boy now understands (I think) why I am the way I am! ;)

Thursday - Wrote about that already. But it was still GOOOOD!

Friday - Jes and I weren't planning on going out shopping, but we got bored sitting around watching TV. So we went with Mom and Gma to JoAnn Fabric. I got foam and material for my padded coffee table project. Jes got shredded foam and material to sew a loveseat cushion for a papasan loveseat. (I picked out the materail--Yay for me!) Then we went to the Dollar Store and got more Christmasy decoration fun. Then we went to Tuesday morning where I *officially* finished off my holiday shopping. Then off to K-Mart where I got HOT PINK LUGGAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Christmas from Gma. I LOVE IT!!! I need trips to go on so I can use it. Then we jetted home, I changed real quick, and headed to G's house for fun.

Saturday - Rach, Dan, and my high school friend Brad came over and watched the MD game and saw the new house addition. Loved the addition, but the game sucked. Booo stupid turnovers. Sadly, we are not going to another bowl game. *Sigh* They left and I wrapped gifts for church. After dinner Brad met me back at mom and dad's and we headed over to Dan and Rachy's for a night of game fun. We played "Wit's End" and "Tribond" and Brad and I kicked @$$ at it. We won every game, I think. And I am officially the biggest nerd we all know because I knew who made velcro.

Sunday - Went to church, then shoe shopping for my little sissy who needs "I'm 21" shoes. Then Gma was hungry, so we headed to TGIFriday's. Dad met us ladies there and we had another stuffing meal. Our waitress was one of the best waitresses I have ever had, though. Then home. I was bored bored bored so I watched mom and Jes finished the cushion and then dad came down and we all watched the Redskins blow the game worse than Maryland had. Not good. After not eating dinner since I couldn't fit any more food in my body, I took a nap. Then Jes and I packed up our cars and headed home.

Monday - Lots of work to do today and then I need to leave early to get home to meet mom, dad and Gma at my place for dinner. Much cleaning will ensue before their arrival. Also, there was a memorial service today at the church and I helped get things set up for that so I've really only been in my office for a little bit. And now I must do work!
neebs: (Default)
Friday I left work at 4 and headed over to G's house. I picked him up and then we were off to Arundel Mills to see Harry Potter. YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!! We met Christy at the Food Court and had dinner, then Jes met up with us and we headed to the theaters. We had tickets to the 8:30 movie but they said we couldn't get in line until 7:15 so we went to the candy store and loaded up on gummy goodness to sustain ourselves. We got in line at 7:15 and then talked about how we are going to make Christy's room into a Gryffindor dorm room for X-mas, and then we got into the theater.

WOW the movie was dang good!!! Jes, Christy and I were all sobbing at the end, but nobody expected any different. I also screamed out loud twice at two different points, which most people around us laughed about. After the movie, we drove Jes to her car, then G and I drove Christy home. I was too tired/lazy to drive back to Rockville, so I spent the night at G's house.

Saturday morning I woke up feeling sick and threw up. But after that I felt good enough to eat some plain toast for breakfast, then headed off to College Park for the UMD-Boston College football game. It took me for-freakin-EVER to find a parking spot, so I just met Kym at the stadium. Since we ended up sucking hardcore, Kym left before the game ended so I walked around to the student section and met up with Jes. After the game, she took me to the dining hall for a while, then we went and hung out at her room for a bit, then I headed off to Miss Heidi's. Saturday night was a BLAST!! We all had some yummmy drinks and excellent food, then after dinner we played Cranium. G showed up a little later and we switched from actually *playing* Cranium to just doing the charade cards. It was a ton of fun.

Sunday I slept in instead of going to church and then when Mom and Grandma got home, they woke me up so we could start our Day O' Shopping. We headed to the DOllar Store for X-mas decorations, then met Dad at Duclaw for lunch. Jes was supposed to join us, too, but she was sick. Sadness. After Duclaw, Mom, Gma and I headed to Deb, then Payless. I got FOUR hot pairs of shoes. LOVE THEM. Then off to Kohl's to find hot jeans and black pants for Jes for wearing out to the bars and in VEGAS!!!! Then off to Target where mom spent another $100 on me for X-mas stuff.

Youth Group was shopping for Warm Nights, which means we all pile into cars and head to Wal-Mart to buy hats, mittens, socks, etc, for the homeless shelter we host at our church during the Christmas season. After that, I went back to College Park to drop off a care package for Jes and check on her. I was going to go to G's, but he was too busy with homework, so I went home. I carried in 15 bags of stuff, 10 of which were X-mas decorations, and it only took me 3 trips. I was going to surprise Kym and Tania when the got home from work today by having the place all decked out for the holidays, but we were watching TV and an X-mas commercial came on and they both went on about how stupid it is to decroate/celebrate/pretty much have anything to do with Christmas when it wasn't even Thanksgiving, so I decided to not decorate after all. Which made me a little sad and kinda hurt my feelings, but I guess it'll be fine.

Today should be pretty good--low-key work day, then home, then dinner with V, then the MD basketball game on TV. I'm looking forward to being in bed by 11:30 again tonight!

Yum

I bought these seedless black grapes the other day and they are SO. GOOD. YUM. I am seriously addicted to them. I could eat them all day long.

ANYway, what have I been up to. Well I'll tell you.

This past weekend I drove down to Harrisonburg, VA (where JMU is) to present a workshop at a Presbyterian Youth Leadership Development Conference. I presented my workshop on Urban Hunger and Poverty in the United States. It went pretty well and I had a couple kids come up to me afterwards and tell me that it was one of the best workshops they had ever had at a conference. So that made me happy and feel all warm and tingly inside!

I drove back on Sat. night and went straight to G's house where I hung out until about 1, then headed home. When I got home I found out that my bathroom had been ripped up (toilet in the shower, tiles in teh trashcan, etc) by the guy who was supposed to redo our bathrooms in August. Better five months late than never, I guess. Anyway, I had no toilet, nor did the roommate with the bathroom not attached to her room, so I ended up having to wake up my other roommate with a bathroom in her room to use the potty. I scared the crap out of the poor girl, though, and Kym woke up screaming bloddy murder before I could explain to her what happened. I still feel really bad about that!

On Sunday when I woke up, I was going to go to G's house to shower and hang out with him, but when I called him his not feeling well had turned into a full-fledged cold attack. Sad. So I went to mom and dad's house, cleaned out my car, and showerd. Sunday was my best friend Rachael's birthday, so I went over to her apartment to meet her new baby, her new kitty Sid. Her husband made us strawberry shortcake instead of birthday cake, which was SO good, and it was really nice to spend some time with Rach, since it's been forever since I've seen her. I ended up skipping youth group because I was so exhausted from the weekend and I just couldn't handle anymore people interaction for the weekend. So instead I went back to mom and dad's house for dinner, then hit up the grocery store on my way home. Sunday night I spent about 3 hours cleaning the apartment, because...

Monday night mom and dad came over with dinner for us! Dad made lasagne--wtih turkey burger instead of hamburger--and brought a salad, Texas toast, and 2 bottles of wine. Tania stopped at Panera on her way home and got this super chocolatey yummyness of a brownie, also, so we ate SOOOO well last night! Mom and Dad also looked at the pretty crappy job that is being done in the bathrooms--grout and Thinset everywhere in my bathroom and my room, ruined carpet where grout is all over it and won't come off, not to mention the fact that the guy didn't actually FIX the problem (water damage to the floor) before he relaid the tile--and told me I better call my landlord. Great. I'm waiting to hear back from him today, so we'll see how that goes...

SO. That's what I've been up to. It probably sounds boring, but man, I feel like I have been so frickin busy lately. I also have to work this Friday, which is a holiday, so I will have yet another comp day coming up. I told G last night that I want to use a comp day and go out and do something FUN!!!! I already know what I want to do, but I am going to surprise him. SO I'll let you know what happens after it does.
