I'll admit it....

I cried last night when Sasha Cohen fell. YOu just wanted her to stick those landings. She looked so regal and so gorgeous in her red dress and so determined and so gold medal...and then to fall....TWICE...it was sad.

Of course, I am also a big baby with extra hormones running through my system, so that probably played some role! ;)

Sasha Cohen (the US figure skater who is currently in first place at the Olympics after the short program) is 5'2" and 95 pounds.

And she can leg press 400 pounds.

GAH.

Apparently it is not all that safe to be an Olympic athlete...

White still couldn't quite grasp what he had achieved a full hour after wrapping himself in an American flag and accepting the congratulatory bouquet of flowers as the men's halfpipe Olympic champion. As tape-recorders whirred, flashbulbs popped and TV cameras rolled, he thanked his parents for letting him try snowboarding as a child -- particularly considering that he had undergone two surgeries as an infant to correct a life-threatening heart defect. "I don't know what they were thinking!" he said laughing, listing the cracked skull, broken bones and sprained joints he suffered as he struggled to learn new tricks.

Then he wondered out loud if winning Olympic gold might help him catch the eye of his current crush, U.S. figure skater Sasha Cohen.

"I'm hoping Sasha Cohen digs gold medals," said the giggling White, who at 5 feet 8 inches and 140 pounds is not much bigger than Cohen. "Oh, this ?" he said, practicing a potential pickup line on reporters as he pointed to an imaginary gold medal hanging from his neck. "I just got it! So, how's it going?"
