Ever notice how life doesn't turn out the way you want it to? Yeah. That's rough.

On the plus side, I smell nice today (from wearing yummy perfume). Small plus, but I'll take what I can get.

Dang, even for ME I am feeling a little too happy/perky/bubbly/bouncy/energetic!!

Especially since I spent 2 hours last night fighting off chills then fever then chills then fever. Blah.

Last night was super fun. Tania, Kym and I watched Britney Spears on Will & Grace (which I was less than impressed with and DAMN was she a chunky from what she used to be...) then I ran over to AC Moore since they had some good stuffs on sale. I got 9 plastic shoeboxes for $3 and then I got four paintbrushes that I can use for my nails for $2. A very successful trip for only $5!!

Tania started cleaning her bathroom last night and I was impressed with how sparkly clean it is! I watched Sex and the City while I wrapped G's Aunt's baby shower gifts, which made me feel kinda squicky, but oh well, that's how they got a baby in the first place, right? (EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW) (like I said, waaaaay to hyper this morning!!)

Today is shaping up to be a FABULOUS day!!! First of all, it is frickin NICE out. Second, I am all done with everything on my to-do list today. Third of all, I'm going to lunch with David in a little bit. Fourth of all, G is coming down and we're going to see the cherry blossoms and then catch a movie and dinner early, then I have to work tonight, but he's going to hang around and take me home after. YAY GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!

I've been busy these past few days...

Monday G picked me up from work and we went into Georgetown for dinner and hanging out. We stopped by Sports Zone and I found HOT PINK trimmed New Balances...and the biggest size they carried was a 10 1/2. I am a SOLID 11, so that was a no go. BOO that.

Tuesday I was a hard worker at work, then went home and was even busier. I dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, made and ate dinner, worked on my art project, put all my clothes away, filed all my paperwork, ripped 3 CD's, burned 5 CD's, watched TV, read a book, and talked to the boy before I went to bed exhausted.

Wednesday I took off for a doctor's appointment in Annapolis. The nurse was quite unfriendly. After the appointment and the hassle of getting the next one that day (which didn't work, so I'll be off tomorrow, too) Mom and I went majorly shopping. We went to Home Goods, where I got hot pink mixing bowls, pretty candle holders, and two serving bowls because I don't have ANY. Then it was off to Chick-fil-A for lunch, which was excellent. Khol's was up next for dressed to wear for the weddings, but we struck out. I did get a pair of jeans, a pair of capris, a skirt, a shirt, a belt, four pairs of socks and a pair of pink shoes, though, so that was all good. After that, it was off to Victoria's Secret for, well, secret stuff. ;) Then we went to Deb and I found my two wedding dresses. The one for the September wedding in Philly is spaghetti straps, black with white polka dots and a white lace trim around the waist. The one for CA is SO California!! It's coraly/tangeriney and is a halter dress with a flouncy skirt that just screamed Cali to me. I love it!! We also found gorgeous prom dresses, so we called Katie to come over and look and when she got there, we had about 12 picked out for her. She didn't find one that fit her right, though, so we will need to make a second trip. Possibly Friday, depending on how I feel.

Today was busy and eventful, but David had to cancel lunch, so I had some extra time to get stuff done. Holy smokes, I can't believe it's already 4:00. Crazy. My mom's bday is tomorrow so I will be frantically trying to finish my art project tonight before I go back to their house, but that probably won't happen. Too bad. I have an appointment in Annapolis at 10 tomorrow morning, so I'm headed back to mom and dad's house so I can sleep in a little later than I would otherwise.

TGIF Baby!

While I am glad that it's finally Friday because I am exhausted from this week and really need this weekend, this week has been fantastic, so I can't really complain!

I wrote about how good Tuesday was at work already.

Wednesday was the last night of volleyball for the semester...or so I thought! That's right, they've decided to have a 6 week course for April into May. YAY!!! We had already planned to go out for beers after playing on Wed. since we thought it was the last one, so I went out and had a really great time with everyone. Also, Phil, the old guy with Parkinson's, showed up and it was nice to see him again, although he is getting worse and worse. =(

Thursday was a SUPER day!!! David and I went to lunch and I sat in on his workshop, which was great. I didn't really get anything else done all day but it was still a good day at work. Then G picked me up from the metro and we had a great night. We grabbed dinner at Moby Dick's in Bethesda, then went to Bob's for ice cream and played checkers. We went back to my house and hung out and laughed and LAUGHED until waaay too late, but it was a great time.

This weekend should be fun, too. I think we're going out tonight for St. Patrick's Day, but no firm plans yet... On Saturday, I am going back up to Baltimore to work on my cousin's room, then probably going out in Baltimore to celebrate a friend of ours getting into a residency program for med school. Sunday we are going swimming for youth group (where I am going to watch them and not swim) and then I am done for the afternoon, so that should be some nice relaxing time.

ALSO, G is *officially* on his spring break, so YAY FUN next week for us!! =)

I am stoked to have March here. It means we're just that much closer to WARMTH. And SUNSHINE. And MY BIRTHDAY. And CALIFORNIA!!!!!

Monday I went home from work with a super headache. I went to bed early, expecting to sleep soundly and awake nice and refreshed on Tuesday morning. Ha. Instead, I tossed and turned all night and after being SO COLD all day, I ended up being freakin hot and sweaty by the time I dragged myself out of bed in the morning. Luckily, once I got up and showered, I was feeling much better.

I drove into work yesterday since I had to leave early and head to my church in Bowie. Monday and Tuesday were really slow for me here--no phone calls, a few emails, and not a lot to do. So leaving at 3:30 was not a big deal for me yesterday! I left early to head to church for our annual Pancake Supper, a fundraiser to help send the Senior High Youth Group to ASP. Plus, it's pancakes for dinner. YUM! After I burned my fingers serving the first few plates, I decided to take the tickets instead. My dad came and I ate dinner with him, then afterwards counted the money (let's just say we were very successful!) and then headed out. I stopped by G's house for a little bit and had some of the cookies I made on Sunday, which are actually really good! We watched American Idol with his mom then went to fill up my car with gas, then I dropped him off and headed home to bed.

I woke up early again today after going to bed early and if this means my body is adjusting to getting up with only 8 hours of sleep...I'll take it!! I actually have stuff to do today, although I am almost done, but it makes me feel like I am needed and productive today! Mom gets back from Disneyworld tonight, so I'm going with Dad to pick her up from the airport, then it's off to volleyball for me. I'm guessing MD is going to lose tonight, so I'm not even going to bother to listen to the game on my way home. I wish we didn't suck so bad. I miss Stevie!!! ;)

Yesterday was a pretty good day...I made it home to mom and dad's house in traffic that wasn't TOO bad, even though I left about half an hour later than I normally do. I showed them The Pink Sparkly and they very much approved! =) Dinner was left over homemade chicken soup and it was so good. I love my mom's home cooking! Volleyball was fun and quite a workout, as it's starting to be super competitive all the time. I got home pretty late and was totally wiped out, so I took a shower, talked to G for just a few mins and then went to bed.

Today has been a good day, too, when I finally got out of bed...I was so tired this morning, I finally had to MAKE myself get up at 8:45, which is half an hour later than I hoped to be up. I finished my book on the metro, got a lot done in the morning, and had yummy Chipotle for lunch. I tried the carnitas (pulled pork) and I am not such a fan. I think I'll be sticking with chicken. Ugh, I am SOOO stuffed though, I feel like I can hardly move.

It's soooo nice out today...sunshiney and warm, crocuses and daffodils coming up, birds singing, motorcades driving by. ;) It's nice! I wish it would stay this warm out, but I think it's going to get cold again. Bummer.

Today is going to be a good day!

Yesterday was a GREAT day!

First of all, I got a TON of people booked at work and we are very close to hiring our summer intern. Having an intern is very exciting for me, as it lets me go off an have fun this summer without having to stress super much about work. That is always a good thing!

Last night I had to go grocery shopping so G met me at Wheaton Plaza, which is halfway between our houses. We hung out in the mall for a while before heading to Gint to get me some fud. While we were talking about things, we realized that our first date had been exactly three years ago. =) That was enough to make a girl feel all mushy and shmoopy inside.

When I got home, Tania and Kym practically jumped me for the cookie dough I had promised them, and Tania made us cookies before bed time. That was fun!

I haven't been sleeping well lately...I've been waking up randomly in the middle of the night, even taking Nyquil, but I've been getting up earlier than normal and feel more awake than I have for the past few weeks. I think this might be a sign that I am FINALLY over the cold I got back at the end of January.

Today I am leaving work a little early to go to the post office and mail the last of my Christmas gifts (slacker what?) and some random stuff that people left here this weekend. Then it's off to the airport to pick up Mom from her trip to Copenhagen. Then volleyball, which is always a fun time. Plus I have a very low-key day at work, which is always nice.

Life update

I haven't done this in a while, so here's a quick life update.

Life is GOOD! =)

G is back in school, which keeps him busy, but weekends are ours to spend time together. Last weekend we went out to dinner with his sis, then out to the bars (for the first time!!) with my sis and got to meet up with Dan and Rach while we were at it.

My car got taken in for repairs and now it doesn't vibrate as bad as it used to. I no longer get out of my car with a headache from the insane, loud vibrations. (Also, it was a motor mount that was coming loose which now officially makes TWO cars that I have had the engine almost fall out of when I was driving it. To go with all the other car drama that you know comes with me!)

Volleyball is rockin'. There are consistently 16-20 people showing up, which means playing 3 round robin games each night. AND these new people are GOOD. Which means I get to show off my skillz yo. ;) Seriously, though, last night I had this AMAZING hit. I feel really good about playing. If I had relaxed at UMD the way I do here, I would have been so much better. It's amazing how good you can be when you are having fun.

Work is going great. I was super busy for a while there, when we got back from Vegas, but now I am all caught up, which is great. I also got several emails in the past few days saying I was "awesome," "great" and "fantastic" which is so nice, given that my Group From Hell arrives in two weeks.

On Tuesday, I was most amused by my roommates as Tania and I listened to Kym yell at Bush through the TV while he gave his State of the Union address. I am really going to miss those girls when we move out in August. =(

So that's about it for now. Like I said, life is good. I've been keeping busy but still having fun, which is really the most important part! Sometimes I still feel like I need to be doing more to save the world, but one day at a time, one step at a time, I am doing my own little part.

I've been MIA lately.

On Thursday I went to work feeling just fine. Around 11 I got a headache. Like a tear-your-brain-apart-with-no-regard-to-how-much-it's-going-to-hurt type of headache. It was migraine strenth and migraine pain, but usually with my migraines I get SUPER sensitive to light and I was fine except for the pounding in my head. As I got up to go look for Advil, I ended up feeling like I was going to throw up so I went running down the hall to the bathroom. I ended up lying down on my boss's futon and I had to call G to come pick me up. It was awful.

I still felt icky on Friday, but I made it to work for a few hours, despite the snow day. Woo comp time! Friday night G made dinner for Dan, Rach and I and we played TriBond. That was good times.

Saturday my mom and dad took G and I out to a fancy dinner for Xmas, then we went to my cousin's play. THey did "Scrooge the Musical." It was creepy. I am used to the muppet or animated Disney version, but the real one...scary. One of the scenes is Hell. Gah.

Sunday I skipped church because I still wasn't feeling great, but then went home afterward. I got a new camera since mine broke on Wednesday night, but when I got home I realized it wasn't what I wanted. We went caroling for youth group, which was fun, except for the obnoxious child that made me use my teacher voice. And I hate doing that.

Monday night I drove back to mom and dad's house.

Yesterday I had a docotors appointment and then went and got new contacts and glasses. I finished my Christmas shopping and returned my camera to get the one I wanted. I headed to G's house for dinner then went home and watched the end of "Love Actually" with Tania, Kym and TJ before going to bed.

My new glasses are a waaaaaay different prescription than what my old ones were, given that the old ones were 6 years old. No change in the contacts, so that's fine, but the glasses are giving me headaches and making me dizzy-ish and I am still not back to feeling 100% so it's not a great feeling.

Tonight is dinner out with G, tomorrow is staff lunch for work and Friday is my lunch with David. No wonder I've put on 2 pounds in the last year (per my docotor's visit).

It's not as cold today, thank goodness. I left yesterday because I could see my breath in my office. (The church has a radiator heating system and it's not turned on yet. My office has 5 windows and an outside door and NONE of them are sealed. Suffice to say it is FREEZING in my office when it's cold out. And hot as all get out when hot outside, but I prefer that.) On the plus side, though, my boss agreed that I need a space heater, so we're ordering one tomorrow. YAY SPACE HEATER!!!!!!!! I am so pumped for that. The idea of being warm at work is so darn exciting to me!!!!

My lunch is SO good today. I have a big thick sandwich of mozzerella, turkey, spinach and oregano, a side of Splendido tomatoes, grapes, and these super yummy apples that G's mom and sister picked. Oh and a Diet Barq's Rootbeer to wash it down with. Yum!!

I've been really busy at work lately, which is exciting, since I don't usually have a ton to do. I am getting everything set for January and March, which are our big college groups, and working on finalizing things for the summer. Little Miss Efficient!

My music tastes have been pretty off for the past few weeks. Usually I'm into my loud teenybopper/pop music, but lately it's been quiet easy listening stuff. I think maybe because I'm sick and it hurts my ears to have the music turned up so loud and the pop music HAS to be loud or it sounds silly to me.

Home tonight (to Mom and Dad's) for dinner and volleyball. I am excited for this. I am also excited for this weekend, since I will be in Boston for Orlando's wedding!!! WOO HOO!!!! PARTY TIME!!!!!

And that's life at the moment. Cold, busy, good!

SO. Here's what's been going on with me.

Last week-Saturday to Wednesday-I went to Dewey Beach with G and a bunch of friends from college. It was a great time, except for the part where I got really sick (throwing up, sore throat, general feeling of crapness). My mom suggested that I drink more, since alcohol kills germies, but I was not feeling that at all. I didn't get sunburned at all, except for Tuesday, when G and I went to Ocean City and went fishing with some friends of my fam. I caught 3 croakers that I took home to Mom and she made for us for dinner.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins came into town on Friday, so I went home and spent Friday night and all day Saturday with them. On Sat. Jes and I took them into DC, and we did a TON. Native American museum, Air and Space, Natural History, Archives. Well, I didn't do the Archives because G met us downtown and he and I left early to go get some pizzas and make dinner for the rest of them. After dinner we went to Maggie Moo's and had THE BEST ice cream. EVER.

Sunday Jes and I metro-ed back downtown to church here and we saw Laura (my intern) preach and run the church service. She did awesome. Then it was back to Bowie for me for a youth group pool party. I think we're going to have a fun bunch this year. Then back to Rockville where G met up with me to move. I just went from the smaller bedroom to the master bedroom, but it was a lot of stuff to haul 10 feet! I have a ton of space and 3 more bookcases coming, so I'm a little excited about that. After we moved, I took G out for Chinese for helping me, then we went to Champions to see a bartending competition and play some darts.

Today I have 2 workshops in a row, and the best part is, I don't know how to do the workshops! It's this weird game and every time I've tried to do it, it has not come out right. Yeah, I am thrilled to be doing this today. After work, G might take me to look at a car, or if not, it's back home to organize my walk-in closet. Right now, you can't walk in it because there is so much CRAP on the floor.

Anyway, that's about all that's been going on with me. Good times, good times.
