Also, I have quite possibly the Best Boyfriend Ever.

My sister's car wouldn't start this morning, so she calls my dad, who is already in DC. He suggests she call G. Jes calls G and he offers to come jump her car or if that doesn't work, take her battery home and charge it and bring it back to her later. Because he is just that amazing and wonderful.

(This also happens to be the car that died while he was following me on the BW Parkway once so he has experience with rescuing McClurg women from this car!!)

Today is turning out to be A Good Day!!!

First, volleyball last night was not as great as it has been, but still good. I felt like some of the players on my team were rather lackadaisical when it came to putting effort into chasing after the ball, which can really annoy me sometimes. Like when I have sacrificed my body to chase down a ball and then they just watch it fall and shrug like "Oh well, maybe next time." GRR. On the plus side, though, I felt like I definitely put way more effort into playing, which gave me a better work out. (And sweatier clothes. =P) I also am starting to be more consistent in the toss for my jump serves, which I have never done before. As long as the toss stays consistent, the whole hitting it in or over the net part will follow. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. ;)

When I got home last night, I found out that poor Tania has the flu. Today she felt better, but was having trouble breathing, so she thought she might have pneumonia instead. Ack. Poor girl. I feel bad for her and want to help her feel better...but at the same time I kinda want to quarantine her so Kym and I don't get sick, too! So far, I am feeling fine, though, so...yeah. No biggie yet.

So. Why today is A Good Day. My sister just called me to let me know that she has been offered a position on staff for ASP this summer. YAY!!!!!! She's following in my footsteps. Awesome!! I am hoping she's kinda close by (within an 8 hour drive would be nice!) so I can go see her this summer without lots of driving. Also, the closer she is, the more likely G might be able to come with me, but we'll see on that. He had an interview this week, so he might be a working boy this summer.

The other good thing for me today is that I am in the process of coming up with a new educational workshop to offer and I just got a big help from another advocacy group with the basic outline of a plan that I can refine and tweak until I have it the way I want it. That is so helpful and fantastic!!

Tonight is pizza and Olympics with Kym. Too bad my blender is on the fritz or it could be pizza, Olympics and daiquiris!!!

Life update

I haven't done this in a while, so here's a quick life update.

Life is GOOD! =)

G is back in school, which keeps him busy, but weekends are ours to spend time together. Last weekend we went out to dinner with his sis, then out to the bars (for the first time!!) with my sis and got to meet up with Dan and Rach while we were at it.

My car got taken in for repairs and now it doesn't vibrate as bad as it used to. I no longer get out of my car with a headache from the insane, loud vibrations. (Also, it was a motor mount that was coming loose which now officially makes TWO cars that I have had the engine almost fall out of when I was driving it. To go with all the other car drama that you know comes with me!)

Volleyball is rockin'. There are consistently 16-20 people showing up, which means playing 3 round robin games each night. AND these new people are GOOD. Which means I get to show off my skillz yo. ;) Seriously, though, last night I had this AMAZING hit. I feel really good about playing. If I had relaxed at UMD the way I do here, I would have been so much better. It's amazing how good you can be when you are having fun.

Work is going great. I was super busy for a while there, when we got back from Vegas, but now I am all caught up, which is great. I also got several emails in the past few days saying I was "awesome," "great" and "fantastic" which is so nice, given that my Group From Hell arrives in two weeks.

On Tuesday, I was most amused by my roommates as Tania and I listened to Kym yell at Bush through the TV while he gave his State of the Union address. I am really going to miss those girls when we move out in August. =(

So that's about it for now. Like I said, life is good. I've been keeping busy but still having fun, which is really the most important part! Sometimes I still feel like I need to be doing more to save the world, but one day at a time, one step at a time, I am doing my own little part.

I have to be here (at work) until 9 tonight but the people aren't coming until 7, so I am in some downtime. I SHOULD go eat dinner, but I am not hungry yet. Too bad I am going to be a starvin Marvin by the time I finally leave around 9...

How about this January weather?? Sixty degrees. Now THIS is a winter I could live with!!

Weather for Las Vegas next week: Upper 50's to low 60's. MONEY. We leave Wednesday for Vegas since Jes turns 21 this Sunday. Crazy. My lil sister is all growed up!

I hadn't planned on driving downtown today but the metro parking lot was full. I am praying that I have enough gas to get back!

Last night I went to G's and we met up with some of his friends and rented Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Brad and Angelina were TOTALLY getting it on during that movie because they had ZERO chemistry on screen. Totally bogus movie, too. Not believeable at ALL. But that was part of the humor to it, right? Right??

Volleyball starts up again tomorrow and I am stoked. Can't wait to get back on the courts. My New Years resolution this year is to be in bikini shape by my birthday, since we'll be out in Cali for a wedding. I figure if I start now, I might make it...we'll see how it actually pans out.

Still not hungry...oh well. I'll be drinking lots of water and hopefully that will help fill me up.

Friday I worked and then headed over to meet up with Kym and peeps for Happy Hour. G picked me up from there and we grabbed dinner from Moby Dick's and brought it back to my office since there was no parking available anywhere else. We met up with his friend Ben and drove around the city for a little bit, chatting it up, before dropping Ben off at a lounge.

Saturday I woke up when Kym yelled at the TV since MD was sucking it up against Miami in the first ACC bball game of the season. I watched them lose-BOO-and put most of my MP3's on CD before my burner overheated. I headed over to G's for dinner and after dinner we went with his mom to Lowe's to look at some stuff. We came back for ice cream, then G and I played the Dukes of Hazzard PlayStation game I got him for Christmas. It was actually a lot of fun!

Sunday I went to church, then mom and I went to College Park for lunch and an Ikea trip. I got the cutest little end table and a coffee table on sale for what the coffee table alone should have cost. Good deal! We were home for a little bit, then I had to head into work. That went pretty quick and I was home by 6. Tania, Kym and I watched the "Stillers" game and Kym was very pumped they won. I went upstairs to put my end table together and then finish burning my MP3's. I watched Family Guy and talked to G, then called my mom and found out that my sister has a severe ear infection but flew to CO this morning to go snowboarding. She was not doing so hot this morning, so I'm pretty worried about her.

So. Remember a while ago I wrote that entry about "nobody f***s with my little sister"?

Well. Apparently they didn't listen to me. The list is done. Time to start kicking some ass.

Also, my mom knows about all this.

Mama Bear is not ok with someone picking on her Baby Bear. Mama Bear is scary enough WITHOUT being pissed off.

Man, I don't envy this guy.

I know that my Little Sister is now a Big Girl (and almost a legal 21-year old Big Girl) but I still have this Big Sister instinct to just smack the crap out of anyone who makes her upset. I did this in high school and even recruited some large male friends of mine to go with me, shoudl the need arise.

As of yesterday, I have started a new list. Nobody f***s with my little sister.
