Here's why:

Friday afternoon G picked me up from work and we went down to the Tidal Basin to see the Cherry Blossoms. Our original plan was to see the trees, catch a 5pm movie, grab dinner at 7pm and get me back to work by 9pm to handle my group. That didn't end up happening, though. It took us a while to find parking, but when we finally did, we decided to walk allllll the way around the tidal basin to see all the pretty trees. It was so fun. I took a ton of pictures that I will be downloading tonight, hopefully! I tried to do some artistic black and white, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how they turn out. Then my group ended up calling me around 7 to say they were about an hour away, which means they were an hour early. EARLY? That never happens! G and I ended up at a Thai resturant just down the street from the church and grabbed dinner before they showed up.

While I was doing the Orientation, G's friends called to tell us about a party in Arlington, so when I finished, we were off to VA. We stopped for some ice cream on the way and then we met up with Nick and Eugene. We got there about 10 and there were 2 kegs. We sat around upstairs in the living room hanging out and around 11:45, this girl comes in and says "The kegs are tapped, but there's some beer in the fridge downstairs." Ok, thanks for the info. Fifteen minutes later, one of the girls who lived in the house walks up to the front door, flicks the lights on and off and yells "There's no beer left, the party is over, GET OUT." So, basically, they kicked us out at midnight. LAAAAAAAAME!! But on our way out, Eugene checked the fridge and found a 24 pack of beer still in it, so he and Nick took that to continue the party elsewhere. ;) G and I headed home and ended up talking until waaaaaaaay later than either one of us should have been up.

Saturday I woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, got some stuff together, and drove go G's house. We went running and did some sprints/footwork stuff for about an hour, then grabbed quick showers and headed up to Baltimore for his Aunt's baby shower. I was the "official" photographer for the event, so I took another ton of pictures (after G ran out to replace my batteries when both of my sets and his extras failed). There was SO MUCH good food there--the BEST crab dip I've ever had, crab balls, spanikopita, fresh fruit (YUM pineapple!), cake....it goes on and on! I got the soon-to-be new parents some books and a picture frame and a little girl's outfit, cuz that's what I'm pushing for. Sadly, there were several boys outfits, so my karma might not work too well. But I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

After the party started to break up, G and his sister and cousins and I went for a little drive to a snowball stand and had yummy snowballs. We hung around B-more for a little while longer, then we headed home. On the way, G and I stopped at BlockBuster. We were trying to decide between "Prime" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin." I asked if his mom was going to watch with us and he said probably not, so we go "The 40 Year Old Virgin"--the unrated version. Good thing his mom decided she DID want to watch it with us. A.W.K.W.A.R.D. She decided about 20 minutes in that maybe this was not something she wanted to watch after all, so she went to bed. G and I finished the movie and then we realized that it was late and then we realized that it was even later because of Daylight Savings time, so I left.

After another mere 6 hours of sleep that night, I got up and headed to church on Sunday. After church I jetted home to see mom and dad for a bit. We ended up getting subs and taking them to church while they got ready for their last performance. After that I headed to the bank and then met some peeps at the movie theater for "V for Vendetta." Too bad we were an hour early for the show! So we ended up at TGIFriday's and I had an Ultimate Mudslide before we headed back to the theater. WOW. Good movie! It reminded me of the book "1984" but with someone who wants to do something about it. And I only shrieked out loud once in the whole movie. Yes, I cringed a lot, but shreiking was held to a minimum!

The movie got out just in time for me to run back to church for youth group. After we did some planning, we went outside on the playground for the rest of the night. I got a blister teaching the kids how to spin each other on the tire swing and make themselves very ill in doing so. We had one girl who I think puked on the car ride home...I hope we don't get phone calls about that! After I left, I called mom for an update on the Lady Terps game (final four in the women's NCAA tourney) and found out it was not on radio. BOOO. So instead I went waaaaaay faster than normal on the beltway and made it to G's house in record time and saw the end of the game, which we WON. YAY!!!! At least one of our basketball teams is worth watching. After that we watched "Gray's Anatomy" and then we talked more and then it was late again and I had to go.

I got more than 6 hours of sleep last night, amazingly enough, but the best part is that I am AWAKE and energetic today! The rain has held off so far and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it does for a little while longer, since I really want to go running when I get home from work. I've been super busy at work so far today, but that's good--it feels nice to check off a whole bunch of things on my to-do list!

I had all these grand plans to go home and get stuff DONE today.

Instead, I am going home and hoping I don't fall asleep. I am so tired.

*sigh* One day, I will not be this exhausted. One day....

I've been busy these past few days...

Monday G picked me up from work and we went into Georgetown for dinner and hanging out. We stopped by Sports Zone and I found HOT PINK trimmed New Balances...and the biggest size they carried was a 10 1/2. I am a SOLID 11, so that was a no go. BOO that.

Tuesday I was a hard worker at work, then went home and was even busier. I dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, made and ate dinner, worked on my art project, put all my clothes away, filed all my paperwork, ripped 3 CD's, burned 5 CD's, watched TV, read a book, and talked to the boy before I went to bed exhausted.

Wednesday I took off for a doctor's appointment in Annapolis. The nurse was quite unfriendly. After the appointment and the hassle of getting the next one that day (which didn't work, so I'll be off tomorrow, too) Mom and I went majorly shopping. We went to Home Goods, where I got hot pink mixing bowls, pretty candle holders, and two serving bowls because I don't have ANY. Then it was off to Chick-fil-A for lunch, which was excellent. Khol's was up next for dressed to wear for the weddings, but we struck out. I did get a pair of jeans, a pair of capris, a skirt, a shirt, a belt, four pairs of socks and a pair of pink shoes, though, so that was all good. After that, it was off to Victoria's Secret for, well, secret stuff. ;) Then we went to Deb and I found my two wedding dresses. The one for the September wedding in Philly is spaghetti straps, black with white polka dots and a white lace trim around the waist. The one for CA is SO California!! It's coraly/tangeriney and is a halter dress with a flouncy skirt that just screamed Cali to me. I love it!! We also found gorgeous prom dresses, so we called Katie to come over and look and when she got there, we had about 12 picked out for her. She didn't find one that fit her right, though, so we will need to make a second trip. Possibly Friday, depending on how I feel.

Today was busy and eventful, but David had to cancel lunch, so I had some extra time to get stuff done. Holy smokes, I can't believe it's already 4:00. Crazy. My mom's bday is tomorrow so I will be frantically trying to finish my art project tonight before I go back to their house, but that probably won't happen. Too bad. I have an appointment in Annapolis at 10 tomorrow morning, so I'm headed back to mom and dad's house so I can sleep in a little later than I would otherwise.

I am stoked to have March here. It means we're just that much closer to WARMTH. And SUNSHINE. And MY BIRTHDAY. And CALIFORNIA!!!!!

Monday I went home from work with a super headache. I went to bed early, expecting to sleep soundly and awake nice and refreshed on Tuesday morning. Ha. Instead, I tossed and turned all night and after being SO COLD all day, I ended up being freakin hot and sweaty by the time I dragged myself out of bed in the morning. Luckily, once I got up and showered, I was feeling much better.

I drove into work yesterday since I had to leave early and head to my church in Bowie. Monday and Tuesday were really slow for me here--no phone calls, a few emails, and not a lot to do. So leaving at 3:30 was not a big deal for me yesterday! I left early to head to church for our annual Pancake Supper, a fundraiser to help send the Senior High Youth Group to ASP. Plus, it's pancakes for dinner. YUM! After I burned my fingers serving the first few plates, I decided to take the tickets instead. My dad came and I ate dinner with him, then afterwards counted the money (let's just say we were very successful!) and then headed out. I stopped by G's house for a little bit and had some of the cookies I made on Sunday, which are actually really good! We watched American Idol with his mom then went to fill up my car with gas, then I dropped him off and headed home to bed.

I woke up early again today after going to bed early and if this means my body is adjusting to getting up with only 8 hours of sleep...I'll take it!! I actually have stuff to do today, although I am almost done, but it makes me feel like I am needed and productive today! Mom gets back from Disneyworld tonight, so I'm going with Dad to pick her up from the airport, then it's off to volleyball for me. I'm guessing MD is going to lose tonight, so I'm not even going to bother to listen to the game on my way home. I wish we didn't suck so bad. I miss Stevie!!! ;)

Today is going to be a good day!

Yesterday was a GREAT day!

First of all, I got a TON of people booked at work and we are very close to hiring our summer intern. Having an intern is very exciting for me, as it lets me go off an have fun this summer without having to stress super much about work. That is always a good thing!

Last night I had to go grocery shopping so G met me at Wheaton Plaza, which is halfway between our houses. We hung out in the mall for a while before heading to Gint to get me some fud. While we were talking about things, we realized that our first date had been exactly three years ago. =) That was enough to make a girl feel all mushy and shmoopy inside.

When I got home, Tania and Kym practically jumped me for the cookie dough I had promised them, and Tania made us cookies before bed time. That was fun!

I haven't been sleeping well lately...I've been waking up randomly in the middle of the night, even taking Nyquil, but I've been getting up earlier than normal and feel more awake than I have for the past few weeks. I think this might be a sign that I am FINALLY over the cold I got back at the end of January.

Today I am leaving work a little early to go to the post office and mail the last of my Christmas gifts (slacker what?) and some random stuff that people left here this weekend. Then it's off to the airport to pick up Mom from her trip to Copenhagen. Then volleyball, which is always a fun time. Plus I have a very low-key day at work, which is always nice.

This weekend was a crazy busy blast o' fun.

Friday I went to G's house for dinner (he made me a yummy omelet with ham, cheddar, red peppers and mushrooms) then headed to Cohoon's house to meet up with peeps while he went to Arlington with his boys. I got there WAY before Jes, Erik and Joe, so I got to lose to Chris and his roomie Ed in any type of pool we could play. That was enjoyable. When the rest of the kiddos got there, we played some more pool and Chris downloaded some Itunes for me because he just rocks that much. Also, I tripped going up the stairs, which made him laugh. I am all about bringing joy and happiness to others! After a few more rounds of pool, we popped in some Family Guy. We watched two episodes before I decided I was too tired to stay anymore.

Saturday I got up, cleaned, went to the grocery store with Tania, went for a run, took a shower, got dressed for my party, partied until 2 with my friends and until 4 with Kym and Tania's friends, and fell asleep sometime after 4:30.

Sunday I woke up feeling icky and tired, probably from the Saturday activities. I showered then went downstairs and threw all of the cans and bottles into recycling bags, then headed to mom and dad's house. I made cookies and sat around resting, then headed to youth group. We helped out with the rotating shelter last night and it was an incredibly amazing experience for me. (The rotating shelter is at each church for a week at a time and is a way for homeless people to get off the streets in the coldest of winter.) I always send groups out to places like this for my job, but rarely do I get the chance to have the interaction.

Last night I made my junior high kids talk and socialize with our shelter guests since they said they were afraid of homeless people and I wanted them to see that we are all the same. While we circled up to pray for dinner, I stood next to a woman and her daughter. After we prayed, I introduced myself to them and learned that Whitney was 10 and in fifth grade. Most of my girls are in sixth or seventh grade, so I introduced all of them and for the rest of the night, they were inseperable. I felt like I couldn't NOT talk to our guests since I had just made my kiddos do it, so I had dinner with Aaron last night and it was great. We talked about living in DC and not liking the Redskins (he's Dallas, I'm Packers), the different dogs we've had, his health problems, why he's on the street, my party on Saturday night, and who knows what else. We ended our conversation when they opened up the stage which was CHOCK FULL of donated clothes from our church and Aaron went to see if he could find a winter coat.

As I was getting ready to leave, I saw Whitney again and asked her if she had liked hanging out with the girls and she said she had. I also asked her if she had gotten anything from the clothes on stage and she showed me her adorable new winter coat. I was so moved by all of this that when I got to G's house to drop off his "Good luck on your exam" cookies, I was almost in tears. I feel like sometimes I am not doing enough to change the world and make it a better place and it drives me crazy because I just don't know what else to do!!! Luckily for me, G is one of the most understanding people I have ever met and he helped talk me through things. He's so wonderful!

So all in all, it was quite the weekend and I am exhausted from it. I am medicating like nobodies business and hydrating and eating clemintines for Vitamin C and by golly, I WILL NOT BE SICK FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR!!! It's all about mind over matter!!

I've been MIA lately.

On Thursday I went to work feeling just fine. Around 11 I got a headache. Like a tear-your-brain-apart-with-no-regard-to-how-much-it's-going-to-hurt type of headache. It was migraine strenth and migraine pain, but usually with my migraines I get SUPER sensitive to light and I was fine except for the pounding in my head. As I got up to go look for Advil, I ended up feeling like I was going to throw up so I went running down the hall to the bathroom. I ended up lying down on my boss's futon and I had to call G to come pick me up. It was awful.

I still felt icky on Friday, but I made it to work for a few hours, despite the snow day. Woo comp time! Friday night G made dinner for Dan, Rach and I and we played TriBond. That was good times.

Saturday my mom and dad took G and I out to a fancy dinner for Xmas, then we went to my cousin's play. THey did "Scrooge the Musical." It was creepy. I am used to the muppet or animated Disney version, but the real one...scary. One of the scenes is Hell. Gah.

Sunday I skipped church because I still wasn't feeling great, but then went home afterward. I got a new camera since mine broke on Wednesday night, but when I got home I realized it wasn't what I wanted. We went caroling for youth group, which was fun, except for the obnoxious child that made me use my teacher voice. And I hate doing that.

Monday night I drove back to mom and dad's house.

Yesterday I had a docotors appointment and then went and got new contacts and glasses. I finished my Christmas shopping and returned my camera to get the one I wanted. I headed to G's house for dinner then went home and watched the end of "Love Actually" with Tania, Kym and TJ before going to bed.

My new glasses are a waaaaaay different prescription than what my old ones were, given that the old ones were 6 years old. No change in the contacts, so that's fine, but the glasses are giving me headaches and making me dizzy-ish and I am still not back to feeling 100% so it's not a great feeling.

Tonight is dinner out with G, tomorrow is staff lunch for work and Friday is my lunch with David. No wonder I've put on 2 pounds in the last year (per my docotor's visit).
